Taking Some Time Off...

Temp Ban for Rules Violation
Hey guys!

Well, as great as this place has been to me, I believe I need to take some time off. I have this problem in my life where, if I become so extremely passionate about something, it begins to absolutely consume me, and I'll do anything to continue feeding that passion (obsession), no matter how much time (which i'm needing to devote towards opening my own business here in Florence as well as continue writing) or especially money is involved. The latter of which has been running short because I honestly can't keep up continuing to purchase as many cigars that's needed to continue to supply all the newbs here in town with as well as all the deserving BOTLs and SOTLs here on the forum. I see all the bombs flying and all the contests going on, and I want to and try to be a part of it as much as I can, but I can't do as much as I'd like to. I feel like I'm going broke trying to keep up with something that should simply be a hobby, but has turned into much, much more as I'm beginning to try to live above my means and this must stop. I'm not in a bad financial situation, but I'm not in a good one either, or one in which I can stockpile as many as I'd like to in order to bomb the sh** out of all of you at a moment's notice! :r Either way, I'm gonna be taking some time off and try to become more disciplined, especially with my time and finances, focusing on my career and entrepreneurial ventures until I have things settled and enough money put back until I feel I can continue to be as involved here as I'd like to be. I've met some wonderful friends here and I'll continue lurking, possibly even posting once in a blue moon, but nothing like I have been lately. I will continue to make good on my current promises to send winnings to both the March Madness Pool winner and recent Lottery winner, however, and thank everyone for the items that have been sent my way the past four or five months. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I take some time to collect myself and really make a push to vault myself forward in what I consider to be a critical period in both my professional and personal life. If anyone needs to contact me further, you may also reach me at my personal email at: alltalk40@comcast.net

Your BOTL,

Jason

Sorry to hear that mang. Seem like a great guy. I know it may seem strange but I dont think anyone would argue that from time to time you need to just focus on yourself and let others fend for themselves. Should try to just only buy for yourself for a while. :tu
Im pretty much in that boat with 2 small kids and school I really cant give as much or as often as I would like. Sometimes its trouble just keeping my small humi full.

The great thing is, after you get everything sorted out the way you need to, we will still be here, with open arms (or branches, as the case may be). Good luck with all that life brings you in the meantime.

I feel your pain, i think i need a twelve step program for cigar smoking.......nah on second thought ill just die with one hangin out my mouth. good luck to you.:hn:chk:ss

Lots of good points here. I laud you for making great personal decisions, especially when it comes to priorities. The worst decision for someone to make is not making those kinds of decisions. Kudos to you and good luck in your time off.

I'm with ya on that Jason. I have a tendency top go over the deepend as well.

I am reading a book that might interest you called - The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. I'm half way in and it' the most rock-solid, absolute, common sense advice on financial planning I believe I have ever heard or read.

Wishing you the best my friend!!

Mikey is so right. You have to remember, the CS community isn't going to hate you because you're not constantly tossing around cigars.
Everyone will be here when you get back, and I hope your business endeavors go as planned :D
Best of Luck!

All the best of luck to you, it sounds like you've thought this through. I hope all goes well, still try to enjoy a cigar when you get a chance, our hobby dosent have to be about stockpiling years worth of cigars.

Good luck to you, come back when your ready or just lurk. I know many get caught up in the bombing and other shenanigans around this place. But this is definitely not the only way to participate here. Reviewing your smokes, bantering with friends and sharing whats going on in your life are ways many of us stay involved. Dont stay away too long, but when you decide to return we will be here with open arms.:tu

Jason, get the F*** outta here...you gotta be kidding me....is this a late April Fools Joke? I hope it is (Auburn people are always a little behind)...but if it's not a joke, good luck with everything. The bombs will slow down and humi wont get filled as much as you make changes in your life, but this place is MORE than cigars, actually IMO, cigars are a SMALL part of CS. Dont leave the site to focus on bigger things, TAKE US WITH YOU to see your progress. If its financial, CS doesnt cost a penny to be here (besides internet connection) and it surely wont be the same without ya. -Stewart

well, If you go now, don't expect me to wait for you forever! :r

Just playing bro. I know how things can get. Take your time and see you when you get back! :tu

Most of us are probably in the same boat in these times of slowing economy.
Good luck in whatever business you are attempting.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. I'm just taking some time off, but will be poking my head in from time to time just to briefly say hello....it's not like i'm gonna stop partaking of a nice stick every other evening! :ss Just wanted to stop back in one last time today and say thanks for all the well-wishes....they're greatly appreciated.

Jason

I kinda know what you mean. When I first joined here I thought to myself
"Donnie there is no way you can afford to do the things you see going on here" (bombing, gifting, etc) but then I noticed that those things are only a part of Club Stogie not the whole of it. I have sent and received a cuple of bombs in 2+ years here and I feel as welcomed as I did when I first joined. Like was said earlier "there are so many other ways to contribute".
Good luck with your business and remember that you will be welcome back with open arms.:tu
