:tu:chk:r That's the name of the game!!!!

I have to say, I want to smoke at least one of them to see what the fuss is about. I'll probably give it 3 days, then all bets are off.

Ahh the Tat Black. I now have a different opinion of this cigar. I picked up 10-12 back in December when a few bundles were going around. I smoked one back in December and was not that impressed. It was really rough. I remember the cigars smelled as well, I think it was the wrapper. :r

Of course, that didn't stop me from picking up two jars. :hn This past weekend, I decided to try another one after a 6 month nap and wow what a difference. It was considerably more smooth and it had mellowed. I was very impressed and happy about my purchases. :ss

I took my bundles out of the jars, I decided to open one and store it in a box. The other one I left wrapped in foil in my vinotemp. Supposedly they continue to age due to the wet packing.

I do have to say, the jars are beautiful. I thought these were only going to be a limited release due to the wrapper leaf being rare. I thought I read there was enough leaf left to produce some robustos, but those were only going to be handed out at events.

Hi Jeremy.. long time no see. I see what you're saying about over time, but my impression of overtime in this packaging is 5-10 years at least :]

Could smell ammoniac after a few years still. My experience Pepins is that they're typically wet for 6 months in normal packaging.

I'm thinking if these are left in foil, I wouldn't touch them for at least 2 years.

But you're right the packaging is beautiful!

So true. It'll probably be a long time before i touch the sealed jar. The amonia levels will probably be way down after 2 years but i'm thinking 5+ would do the trick. Rumor has it the wrapper wasn't of the same quality which is why there was a few shipments instead of one single shipment. Just a rumor though, don't konw if there is any merit to it.

I know of Opus X Lanceros from the 90's selling for $100 a stick. If you were able to keep your cigars sealed for 5 years, what do you think they would be worth?

You guys are killing me! 5-6 years. I'm just trying to grasp the idea that I'm going to be sitting on my sealed jar for 8 months. :D

So for some reason I decided to check my e-mails at 3:30 yesterday at work. Saw the e-mail from NHC and was able to place an order. Two guys with questions waiting for me as I'm typing away. They ask what I'm doing. I yell at em that I have to get these Tat Blacks before they're all gone. I think they thought I snapped and left. They only wanted me to look at what they thought were cracks in flight safety parts. Don't worry, I caught up to them. :tu It's still safe to fly!

As far as the cigar it is very good. Is it worth the $13 each? Probably not but supply and demand is an interesting thing. I look at it as I have 10 sticks of ammo heading my way. :r

honestly i have no idea. the original release opus x (the SLB's) are always hugely expensive. you gotta pay to play with those. i'll be pretty anxious for these to mature though. i'll wait till some of the other guys say they are probably ready before i break into them. a long long time from now.

New Havana sold them $248 for the jars when they had them in stock. I was able to get mine for right under $285 at a local shop after all the taxes and such.

240$ plus taxes for mine but he would only sell me one jar. he had four there but one was for singles and the other was sold while i was there and the last was waiting to be picked up. i tried offering more for it but he wouldn't do it. only 11 people got the email saying they were in. i love my crackberry.

All this talk has me anxious for my 3 pack.. I love me some tats, and I have a feeling these will be no exception! :D
