Tatuaje is my new pimp

Since joining this forum back in January, I have declared myself a Gurkha whore. And while I do enjoy many of the sticks from K. Hansotia, I have to admit that the last two or three months have found me smoking them less and less. Why? First it was the Olivas, especially the Vs; then Don Pepin Garcia entered the mix, particularly the DPG Blue; next came the Illusione series and the myriad of smokes from the Dark Side. In the end though, I keep reaching for a Tatuaje. The Black. The Brown. The Red. In that order. I love their flavors. I love the way the Black bites. I enjoy the subtle complexities of the Brown label and the smoothness of the Reds. So I have put away my Gurkha user bar for now, and changed my sig to reflect my willingess to whore for Tats.

Must resist the Tats....

I love the V's and DPG Blues. I don't have the wallet to try the Tats. Please stop the insanity!! :hn

Very wierd timing that you should write this. Last night smoking a Gurk (sitting on a bench outside the bar that kicked me and my smoke out) and thinking of a Red. I was wanting a bit more spice than smooth.... I haven't tried a Black and I think I tried a Brown (a fiver from Cbid) little ones called Miami Petittes... but they shipped with no bands. Might be White Owls for all I know.

Smoked a Blue for the first time the other day, good, not as good as a Tat IMO. Still need to try the JJs and some of the other DPGs.

I love the V's but the Perdomo Cabinet Reserve SGs and Cameroons are outstanding and smooth. Bought 2 fivers of the Cameroons on the devil site and now need to hunt down the SGs.....

At least I can age some of the Gurks instead of trying to smoke them all up :) What a slippery slope.

If you grab a few Petite Tats at New Havana your wallet will hardly notice it. Of course if you like 'em _then_ you have a problem.

:)

I, too, am a Tatuaje ho.

My favorites are the J21 and the Noellas from the Brown line. I also like the Regios but not as much as the other two. I recently dove head-first when CI had them and bought a box of each (don't tell my wife). The Conoju, both 2003 and 2006, are great smokes, and I currently have a handful of each. All the cigars mentioned above are a little higher than my "every day" smoke price range. I need to try the petites, and if they're as good as the others, I may buy a box because they are much easier on the wallet, and I need to add some quick smokes to the rotation.

I also really like the Angeles from the Red line. And the price is bearable. I enjoy the Zona del Este, and got several to smoke occasionally but, again, a bit pricey for me. I'll be exploring more of the Red line soon. I'm particularly interested in the Hermosos and the Nobles.

I still haven't tried a Black because I can't get past the price. If they were around $10 a stick, I'd jump in a heartbeat.

Right now, the Tatuajes, Illusiones, and DPG Blue and Black label cigars are my favorites. The Blue and Black robustos are my everyday go-to smokes.

Ok...I have only smoked one of these and it was horrible!! I think it was mainly the burn causing an awefull taste. NOt sure which one...had a red label. I know I should give them a try, which is everyones favorite? I think my closes B&M only has two kinds.

(Hey mass- me and my bro are going to callabash this tuesday if you feel like going for a drive. :) If not maybe I can drive down for a mini herf in a few weeks. I would like to see a BOSTON smoke store, or any other)

I love all Tatuaje's, except my only gripe is the P series, with the draw issues they have. Other then that, everything is top notch.

Just got word that my shop is getting a large shipment of tat blacks in next week, already down for a few jars worth.

There is nothing wrong with changing your whore-ing tastes Vin. You selected a great brand to be a whore of.:tu

Good luck on your new whoreship. If you are looking for apprentice whores in your new whore journey let me know. I will be more than willing to try all the tats and decide if being a Tat-Whore is a good idea.:D

Gotta agree, I love the Tats also. Although..............

The last stick I had beetle problems with (and the only stick with beetles in the last 2 years) was a Tat Black someone gifted me in the last couple of months. Caught it early and froze the stick; found the beetle alive an kickin' but dispatched it quickly. Holed the stick less than 1/2 inch from the foot, so it is still smokable! Haven't had that problem with ANY other Tats!

Bought My First Tat Blacks

i was so Excited I peed a little.

Can't wait to try for the second time.

I'm smoking a Tatuaje Havana VI (red?) right now and i must say this is one DAMN fine cigar. Of course I’m still a newb in the cigar world, only been smoking for ~2months, but I have to put this cigar in my top 5 so far.

Has anyone tried the series p? I remember reading somewhere that it has a similar taste to the Havana VI but for half the price. I was wondering if there is any truth to that statement.

They are also quite good. Afterall, it's a Pepin! :ss Not to mention inexpensive because it's a sandwich (mixed filler) cigar.

The VI is indeed the 'red'. I didn't find much of a similarity in the P's I smoked and the one box of reds I own. I haven't seen P's at half the price, maybe 2/3 or 3/4. Regardless, I am sticking with the Reds/Browns and if I can find one, the Black.
