Tell me this is normal.....

Rock a mullet like a STAR
I just walked back from my local B&M near work. This older gentleman asked if they had in stock a box of his favorite Arturo Fuente something...The B&M guy said nope and didn't have singles either...I'm assuming they were short or smaller cigars. Maybe a short story or a petite corona type. Then he just proceeds to take churchill size ones and tell the B&M he'll cut them in half!

Is this normal..I've never done it but I have thought about it for all those non-cigar affluent moochers I hang out with.

Besides the fact that it will start to unravel..there can't be any good reason to do it.

Guy#1 Hey my half tastes spicey and rough.
Guy#1 My half tastes mild and with little spice.

There's a guy who come's into the shop buys a bunch of curly heads and does this to all of them then grabs the pectin (cigar glue) and glues all the wrappers together. So in answer to your question no not normal but its done.

I know a guy who did it with a Partagas Lusitania :r

Please don't do this, even though some people do cough*Andrew*cough.

That sums it up for the most part...

Maybe it's an older generation thing. I've only seen two people do it and they were both well passed a foot in the grave.

The older folks do tend to have a habit of saving a buck in any way they see possible.

I know an old guy that cuts off the burnt end of a smoked cigar (it's got maybe 2 inches left), cuts it open and takes the tobacco out. He stores it in an air tight glass jar and rolls his own cigars out of it. Ew...

Could be the guy like short smokes, or he likes the second half better then the first because maybe he gets the buzz quicker from the end :)

The length, ring gauge and blend all determine how the cigar will smoke and taste. Cutting it in half destroys any sense of continuity that the manufacturer intended. :ss

Can't tell you that because it's not! But, then again, taste is taste, whatever floats your boat- or lights your cigar!

I have to disagree with you. I the stunningly smart guy that I am, left my cigars at the house one night. My Brother happened to bring along a 7" Gurk. He cut it in have and we both smoked it. One of the best cigars I have ever smoked because of the gesture. We had a blast licking and sticking the ends that were unraveling. Tasted good and will never be forgotten.

well I would be a godo way to really see what tastes of the cigar are in what portion of the cigar, for those who forget or don't pay attention due to the length of the cigar....and to fix the unraveling just use some vege glue or pectin, at least that's what I did to my unravelled ones...

I have done it...but only to make some tobacco last on a backpacking trip....i took five cigars....and ended up staying out for almost 2 weeks...I HAD to do something....it was survival;)
