Tell me what you know about Don Pepin

RockEStone

Smoke em' if you Got em'
I'm about to light up a Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic. Have you smoked one and tell me what you thought.
Thanks

I just found out not long ago that his last name is pronounced PEEP-IN, and not PEP-IN, as I've used much in the past.

Ok. I just smoked the Don Pepin. I almost fell down, this stick kicked me in the head! Powerful smoke. I had to take a break to scarf down some donuts to knock off the queasy feeling.

It took about 6 matches to keep this bad boy burning to start with. Stayed lit after about 1/4 of the way down. Good smoke. Do not smoke on an empty stomach!!:ss

I hear he speaks spanish. So if you want to call him, get me the number and I'll have a chat with him about how to pronounce his name.

:tu Yep.

Here is a list of the cigars he makes. I prefer his cigars to most others. DPG also says to store his cigars at a lower humidity(60-65%) to get the most enjoyment out of them. He uses alot of criollo and corojo and those baccy's soak up water like a sponge.

:tpd:Based on your statement about the burn, it sounds like it may have been a bit wetter than 65%. Try another one, but dry box it before smoking it. I think you'll find both the burn and flavor improve.
