The devil don't know shipping!!

Well, I am not feeling optimisitic even with all the tales of stuff arriving early from DHL.

Once I checked the tracking, not only did it ship on Friday, it was picked up at 4:55p on Friday.

Midnight it was scanned in Utah.

Crap. Not Cbids fault I guess, it is on me. Just figured there was no way it would take a week.

I did formulate a back-up though. I have managed to parlay the late shipping into a B&M trip before we go.

I live in the area and my DHL delivery scheduled for tomorrow arrived tonight. Of course it was also left on my neighbor's porch instead of mine but what do a few house digits matter, right? I think I'll look into switching to USPS as well.

Good luck with your order. I'm quickly learning that unless something is shipped from the West Coast then it will take its sweet time reaching the Northwest.

Interesting. My bidding spree completed last week on Wednesday night, and CBid shipped out at 5pm on Thursday. It was scheduled by DHL for delivery on the 2nd, but tracking showed it was in Wilmington - Clinton Field, OH on the 27th and in Chehalis Regional Hub, WA early this morning, and hit the Bothell DHL around 8:30am. So I figured it would be here tomorrow. I called them up and was able to pick it up (only about 5-6 miles away) today. I need to get some picks up on my thread about my shopping spree.

It seems interesting that yours is going a completely different route (mine never was scanned anywhere in any state between Ohio and Washington), when we're not that far from each other (Seattle area for me, Tacoma for you).

Finished my bidding last Thursday. Invoiced that day and notified my package was on the way Saturday. To my surprise the package arrived today, Monday. That is the fastest I have ever received an order, usually I recieve my packages on Wednesday.

Does anyone know how the Devil chooses DHL or USPS?

I have the weekly shipping option, and for the past few weeks it has gone USPS and arrived on Saturday. This week, the wife was out of town for the weekend so I went a little crazy figuring I could get a larger package and she would not be the wiser :cb.

However, the Devil decided to ship DHL this time and it still isn't here! It is scheduled to arrive today according to the tracking. So, was it the extra size or the extra cost that made the switch to DHL?

One of mine just hit early today. It was supposed to be here tomorrow when wife is working. Why must you screw up a good plan DHL:hn.

Because they have crafty marketers? They think being a day early means people will love them, but nobody realizes they inflate their scheduled delivery dates on purpose.

It reached the Chehalis Regional Hub at 4:00a today. I lose. Poop.

There must be a line around Auburn that separates Seattle and Tacoma.

Ok, I know this has now left the point where anyone cares, but I will update by saying just for fun I call them and the web tracking was actually more helpful than the phone operator.

Just because I know you guys love this stuff.

Carry on.

I personally can't stand DHL, I've never had a good or even mediocre experience with them, with any order of any type.

the first time I had someone ship something to me I had to pick it up from the HUB. The person got my address wrong, I noticed in the tracking and had plenty of time to correct the issue with them. They updated DHL and it showed in the tracking the correct address, but days later when the package was even close it never arrived, it was only then I received an email to come pickup the package. I sent back an email and requested that they try to deliver it to the correct updated address that shows in their tracking system, but they would not. I had to take time off work to go to the hub to spend another 30 mins waiting for them to find the parcel.

Every experience through CBID shows up in tracking just fine, and it shows a projected date, fine. But then it shows my box sitting in one of two hubs for a minimum of 3 days before it shows loaded on truck for delivery. I don't understand why they would want to warehouse items for days when they're just a short drive away to complete the delivery. Not cool when it's not cool outside!

I prefer FEDEX/UPS/USPS over DHL anyday.

Thought I would put the little finish on this with a good word about Cbid since my title was a little harsh. DHL is really who sucks in my opinion.

Anyway, the customer service was awesome!!! Set up for USPS Priority Mail just have to pay for insurance for orders over $50. No problem there, it is never over $5.00 anyway.

Got 2 emails ANSWERED on the same day I asked question. Nice and helpful. Most importantly, not that fun "Cut and Paste" reply that I am sure everyone has got at some point. Those make me want to hurt things, anything!

Anyway, kudos to Cbid and boo-hiss-hiss for DHL.

My sticks are safely recovering from their 1 week journey across the country in my new IglooIceCubeador.

Why would you bid on a single 5-er and then pay $3.95 in shipping? Paying 80% of the cost in shipping seems... inefficient. Or did you mean it's never more than $50, not $5? :)

Well, I like to go with 3 days shipping. I usually do UPS as well.

It's not unheard of at all for a delivery to make it a day or even two-three before schedule.

But then again, I've received packages later than scheduled :tg.

Good luck with that, however.

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

So confusted as of right now.

I take this to mean that he only has a single item shipped at a time from CBid, at $5 for his winning bid. That sounds like he wins a single 5-pack for $5, and that gets shipped. The shipping charge for a 5-pack from CBid is $3.95. So that means he's paying $4 to ship a $5 item (shipping is 80% of the cost of the item!). At CBid, if you get multiple 5-packs, each additional 5-pack is only 50 cents more. So let's say you win 4 5-packs, at $5 each. That's $20 for the 5-packs, plus another $3.95 + 3*0.50 = $5.45 for shipping.

So, if you get 4 5-packs at a time, it costs $5.45 shipping, as opposed to $3.95*4 = $15.80 to get them all in separate shipments.

Unless, of course, I just misunderstood what he wrote. :)

I think that he means that the insurance on the package is never more than $5. Just my :2.

On an order under $50 there is no extra charge for insurance, just the normal shipping charge.

On an order over $50, no matter how high, there would be a charge between $3-$5 total for the entire shipment.

Ah! I now understand what you meant. Thanks for clarifying. I was just reading it wrong. :)
