The Illusione M7

well, due to the constraints of the search feature, m7 seems to get clipped out of my searches so...

I can't find any M7 for the life of me, even when hitting up 'foreign' B&Ms... anyone have any reviews of one? I would hate to go overboard on an order without the chance to sample a few first.

Looking forward to the responses!

I have a limited number of cigars in my humidor that are highly rated and have a price tag of $15 or more. Never having smoked an M7 are they really worth the money? All of the Illusione family of cigars are limited and the prices follow due to the limited nature. But are they really worth the money?
Just think of Macanudo with the name of Illusione.:2
To me they have about as much flavor as a Mac.

You're nuts. :bn
You are probably right. At least I have been told that before. :D
Honestly though, I have tried the CG4 a couple of times and each time I thought "Am I smoking a Macanudo?" May just be me because I know many people like them but to me they are just meh.

Man, that blows me away, its amazing how things can taste so different to so many different people. I would say these two brands, to me, are worlds apart.

The M7 is a good cigar, but for $15 I would take the mk and a cg:4. With the M7 there was periods of "staleness" especially in the first inch and a half, but kicks in with flavor at the halfway point only to mellow out towards the end. Peace.

That is one of the things that makes this hobby/obsession so much fun is that no matter what people think about a cigar someone else will have the exact opposite opinion. I am sure that I will try this brand again someday but only if it is gifted to me. Who knows, the couple of times I tried them my tastebuds may have just been out of whack.

I would recommend that you try a different vitola than the m7. I have had problems with the construction in these perfectos.

The tobacco in most Illusione cigars is well aged (3-years, or more) before being rolled into cigars and then they get some secondary aging before being boxed. The flavor profile is great, IMO, but construction issues in the m7 have not made it the best choice.

With the exception of the 88, I think they taste acidic and need more aging time. Many other people don't get that, but those people suck. :D

I have tried all of them, save the 2 and M7, hence the search. I agree - great flavor.

I have not had the M7 because the price point is too high, and I did not care for the CG4 for some reason, but I have been loving the MK, 68, HL, and 888. I gues it all depends on your personal tastes, so I say give one a try and see what you think.

The Illusione line shines in the smaller ring gauges. IMO. I'm not sure the M7 does the blend any justice.

So groogs, do you find the CG4 as bland as I do or does it just not suit your tastes? If it is the former then I may have to try some of the other lines. :tu

Interesting thought. I enjoyed the cg:4's I have had, but tend to really like perfectos. I thought about getting a box of the M7's, but couldn't convince myself. I'll have to track down a few singles and see how they compare in the larger ring gauge.

The larger the ring gauge Illusione's need to rest a while before they come around. The M7 is fantastic with a few months on them (but then again.....they whole line is great with a little age.)
