TheSmokingHiker's roadtrip cigar story (the booty call)

TheSmokingHiker

Evolving Lead Gorilla
A friend of mine broke up with her boyfriend a month or so ago. She lives in Savannah, and she called me up and asked me to come down and spend the weekend with her. She promised a relaxing weekend of excessive drinking, and a party where I would be the guest of honor. I would be a fool to pass this one up. The only barrier that I saw was the atrocious four hour drive between Atlanta and Savannah. It is a barren wasteland dotted with sketchy truckstops filled with imbred rednecks. Being the resourceful man that I am, I opened up my trusty humidor and grabbed some ammo to get me through the trip...

2 RP EDGE (corojo)

A La Gloria Cubana Series R #5

A CAO Brazilia Amazon

On the way there, I started out with one of the RP's. As usual, it didnt fail me. This one has about 4 months of age on it. Just enough time to make it worth my while. It helped me get through some nasty traffic that I had to sit through. After that, I killed the Brazilia. It did me well. A couple Nat Sherman Cigarette's later, I was in Savannah unscathed.

Friday night was a blur. I was handed a beer as I got ready to step into the shower to get cleaned up for the party. For those of you who dont drink in the shower, I recommend starting out with something mild like a Corona and lime. That is my personal favorite. To make a long story short, I was drunk before I got to the party. Once at the party, old friends, new friends, and pretty girls that I flirted shamlessly with all managed to make sure my glass was never half empty. More so, I drank everything from Greygoose Martini's to budlight. The girl that I came to visit managed to go drink for drink with me. That meant that she passed out in the process of taking off her clothes. Oh the joy of alcohol...

The night went to hell from there. I woke up in the morning on the floor wrapped in a towel with a headache the size of texas. I cured it with a few glasses of water, some advil, and a stomach full of cheap mexican food.

When I told Katie, the girl I visited, about her passing out while I was taking her clothes off, she laughed it off like a champ. Saturday night went a lot smoother than Friday. I paced myself well, and had a good time. I am going to spare you the details, but I feel like I got to know Katie, and her roommate a lot better that night (twice, and the next morning).

The ride home went smooth. Smoked the last RP, and drove into Atlanta with the Series R burning. I couldnt have picked a better cigar to end on. It burned perfectly, and tasted great. I had my sterio going, and a smile on my face. It is all good...

You dog. ;) I'm glad to see you remembered the cigars, otherwise we might have been subjected to more of the "details."

cigars, alcohol, women....................the PERFECT weekend.

glad to hear you had fun, i wish my weekend was like that. i sat around all weekend and watched my mouth get swollen from my wisdoms bein yanked. but hey, glad you enjoyed yourself.

Hate is such a strong word but... I hate you!!! :mn

Wisdom comes with age.... unfortunately these kind of calls stop. Alcohol will be available long after these opportunities are not. Sounds like you wasted Friday night. :al

This thread is worthless without pics! :r

Why do these two words always join each other in a sentence? And how come we can't have a redneck smilie? Questions to ponder........

Congrats on the enjoyable weekend. Doesnt sound like anything could have gone better. Well it could but this is a public forum and I am not going to go there. Cherish the memories and rekindle them every once in a while.

Pics would be great.

Enjoy those binges while you can. Someday you will be old and looking back and they will just be a good memory.

The thing about sparing us the details....no need for that.

Please, be liberal with some more details.

And, while these kinds of "events" end for many of us with college, the up-side is we can live them vicariously through fine, detail-oriented folks like yourself.

So...Hiker...please...DETAILS!

:)

Oh poor little bastid, you had to survive an attrocious 4 hour drive to get a 2fer! $%&*#@ I am extremely jealous and am VERY tempted to negative gauge you. $*@*%#$

My weekend on the other hand involved constantly sending an obstinant 3 year old to timeout and finding out what I thought was going to be an idler pulley had problems in my wife's car was actually oil sludge. I get to go shell out $1800 here in 1/2 an hour for the repair that MAY keep the car running.

I think I'm going to have to side with Klug's on this one.

And I don't think hate is too strong of a word... :D

You are a dog!

Well done Sir!
