To Nub or not to Nub?

NM about the address. I already have it from the Newbie PIF. I'm sure you'll get to try 1 sooner or later....

;-)

Sure try them, but I wouldn't recommend just blind buying a box or even 10 of those babies. I went through 2 samplers before I realized that they sucked. I try anything at least once and I do like the bigger ring gauges so I thought what the hell. Never again though.

However, this is the fun of it. What I don't like, you may love so give it a shot. I'm sure a gorilla here can hook you up with a stick to try :)

Personally I would give it a try as I would but the thing is they are way high priced. I have been afraid to get some and not like them. I have herd the cammy is kinda like a fat short story and the Habano is the best.

I want to try a torpedo version when I get the chance (If I do) just because of cutting I think my palio will do if the cap is not flat if it is curved i can take iff as much it but a 60+ ring gauge is insane I dont like to punch but I think this is made for punching.

Personally I want to try them just because of the hype so i can finally say weather or not to nub lol. As of now I herd the order of how good they are is the habano is best then the cameron is good and the conneticut its aldo good but not as good (from what i have herd/read) no personal exp.

I had the cameroon first, and even though it didnt blow my socks off, I enjoyed it for what it was.

Yesterday I had the habano, and for the first half of the cigar I really enjoyed it; however, by the time it got to close to the band it started getting extremely hot (even after a purge), and all of a sudden died on me. I tried relighting it, got a puff or two and then it died again. Once again, i sparked it back up, the taste was now horrible, and it died AGAIN! Needless to say, it left a bad taste in my mouth (sorry for the pun) when it comes to Nubs.

Im not saying that my one habano is a representation of the brands quality, but as some other have said, try a few singles before investing in a box or bundle!

You had someone suggest you take a pass previously and yet you still posted this topic? That could only mean one of two things in my opinion, the first being you have already made up your mind and you are looking for validation. If you want to buy one just buy one and skip the validation part.

Or you are fishing............and hey it worked.

I say this because:
A: The longest paragraph is about things you want to try and have no relation to your thread title about Nubs
B: You mention your humidor is empty and you have little money (also unrealted to the thread on Nubs)

Sorry, I call it like I see it even if I know it won't be a popular opinion with some. I've seen a lot of this lately on here. :2

I'd suggest taking the five bucks your planning on wasting on a Nub and instead get one of the new delicious 5 meat stacker club toasted subs from Quiznos. It would be money better spent.

I cut mine with a palio, no problem

Tried a Nub 460 Cameroon on Saturday and have to say that I enjoyed the cigar. I didn't find that I was underwhelmed by the flavor. A medium bodied cigar in my estimation. Burned well, and had a good draw throughout. Only quit smoking it when it got too short to hold onto anymore. I would certainly give it another whirl.:ss

Tell you what - you have had some of the best replies in such a short time as I have seen here in the Forum.

You won't know if you don't try, I have an open mind and have smoked all of the NUBs, the rep was on here when they first came out and he seemed like a nice guy who maybe stepped on a few toes at first but in my opinion made amends so I wanted to checkthem out for myself - honestly they were not to my liking but that is just me - I even did a couple reviews, check mine and some of the others out if you are looking for more info.

For the price you can find better cigars from the same manufacturer (Oliva) and as I do enjoy a larger RG but it normally means more tobacco flavor is packed in - in the case of the NUB I was dissapointed.

Having said this, they sell very well at the B&M I visit in Miami...

Totally not how I meant it and Im sorry if it came out that way. Im just trying to spend my $$ in the right places.

I had two nubs over the weekend, on Friday night I tried the Habano and on Saturday I had the Cameroon. Both I though were pretty good cigars, nothing that knocked me over as being great but I did really enjoy them. I was surprised at how long they lasted, I got just over an hour out of each of them.

The Habano was really good all the way down until I got into the last third and then it started getting pretty hot. The Cameroon was the torp and I nubbed it, I just didn't want to let it go.

Overall I enjoyed both very much, still not the best cigars I have ever had but I will buy them again.

My boss threw a nub connecticut my way one morning it was good went well with my coffee. And renton20 gifted me a nub habano also tasty. But to date I have not bought a nub. It's a ring guage issue for me. Nothing more.

Had to go check out that new sub when you posted this...
Not bad... :ss

When you compare the level of enjoyment, value for the money, and comparison in size (compare any Nub to that sandwich and you'll see what kind of deal i'm talking about), there's just no contest. I mean, why drop five bones on a cigar only halfway decent, has construction issues, and has a tool of an owner when you could have a tasty sandwich instead?

Thanks for the chuckle, Joe. A bright spot in an otherwise crappy day.

I really like the Nubs (havent tried the Cameroon yet), i dont get how some of you can say their only half a cigar in less you normally smoke 8 in. long cigars, the burn time for me is around a hour and a half for the 460 size and the 464 and around $5 a pop, not bad to i think for a good cigar. I dont think they are a waste of money but then again i like them and if you havent tried them at least try them before passing judgment as im sure some of the posters to this thread have.:2

I really enjoyed all the different Nub cigars, but find myself not returning to them except on the rare occasion. More of a novelty to me I guess. But again I think there worth trying as they are enjoyable.

You seem to be very interested in the Nub so definitely try one. If you don't, you'll always wonder about them. I'm not a newb but I also want to try one just to see what's going on with them.
