Today's B&M Score

My band played last night and I had a little extra money to burn, so I stopped by Smokey's Fine Cigars in downtown Royal Oak. I talked about how this place slipped to 2nd place as my go-to B&M in this thread, but I also wanted to see if they had those nifty sectioned-off zip-loc bags that I see everyone use in trades and I doubted my #1 place would have them. So, after reading Mr. Doug's review of the RyJ Bully, I pick one up and I started to pick out a couple other $6-$9 sticks I'd like to try. Then I make my way toward the more expensive cigars and I start to think, "Hmmm, I wonder if they have any Opus Xs... Nah, probably not considering how rare people say they are..." Well, lo and behold, I was swimming in Opus Xs. I put everything away except for the Bully and picked up an Opus for myself. They had 8 boxes out, in various sizes, with prices ranging from $18.99 to $27.99. They all had signs on them that said, "Limit 2 per customer per day." So, if you're in SE MI and you need an Opus hook-up, I think you may have found your place. :ss Now, I've been reading that you should let your Opus age for a few months before smoking. True? Someone please give me the skinny on how to get the most out of this smoke. I don't plan on sparkin' her up on a whim - it will definitely be an occasion - but I want to know when the "time is right". :tu

If this is your first Opus, no reason to wait...go ahead and smoke it. Let us know what you think of it. Having said that, put one aside and see how it compares a year down the road.

I would encourage you to buy two one for the HA! I smoked one experience and one to lay down for at least a year. they are all spice and raw power when young. after time they become complex sweet and oh soooooo good. I scored a couple a few years back and must say one today is a defferent beast than that of yesterday. if you have size options available i highly recomend #4 and the fuente fuente.

Your first Opus.

Smoke it up. You will like it I am sure.

If you have a chance to get a few more and lay them down for a bit,do so. You will see a huge difference in aged OPUS.

sweet score smoke that opus brother you will enjoy it, a little over rated but still a great cigar.
