I find I like big ring guage (54-60)sticks when Im out, and smaller when Im at home(40-50). Mostly because I dont have time to sit and enjoy a 2hr cigar . anyway the reason Im asking is I see for the most part when the anni lovers come out of the wood work and wtt or wts most of the time I see smaller RG cigars being offered/traded. I have thought about getting some splits but dont want to pull the trigger on something untill Im sure for that kind of money it is something I will enjoy.

so anyway getting to the point, when it comes to sticks like the annis and some others what size rg do you buy or like the best and why?

I'm usually a middle of the road kind of guy. Not so much a smoking preference but, I like something that is a good bang for the buck and will give me 60-75 minutes of enjoyment. I typically go for the robusto or toro size stics.

I usually go for a little smaller than most robusto size RG when it comes to the annis and such. Seems to be more of a concentration of flavors to me.

Seems like most of my purchases in NC's tend to be 5-6 inches long,
with ring gauges anywhere from 45-54. I love the 5.5 x 50/52 sizes.

Depends on the time I want to spend. So I will usually pick up different sizes when it comes to Anni's. That way, I will have a stick for all occasions.

I tend to go for corona sizes with top shelf cigars. Time is always a factor for me, and when I smoke a top shelf cigar like a Padron Anny or Fuente Anjeo or such, I like to devote my full time to it. The shorter cigars allow me to be sure that I don't have to rush it. I have a larger Anny, a couple of Opus X and Diamond Crowns, and a few Anjeos in the humidor that have been sitting there a while because, lately, I have not had 2 hrs to devote to smoking one of them. Also, when it comes to Havanas, I prefer the coronas for the same reason.

:tpd: However I do love a 60 guage every now and than. Specially when watching a football game.
GO NOLES!

Mostly smoke nothing smaller than a 48 ring. Will go as high as 60 . When I'm at the casino or with friends I usually go for the churchill sizes,,7 and up..

Jerry in Minnesota.

Mostly my favorite sizes are Belicosos, and Torpedo's,anywhere from a
6.5 to a 5.5x52,sometimes when I have the time to enjoy a larger Gauge up to a 56.:)

Mainly robusto's or smaller on top shelf stuff. Principe's and Exclusivo anni's and the 46 in Anejo's. Robusto in the Anos 100's.

:BS as my father would say long and lean is pretty kean short and fat is where its at. .. just my 2 cents worth :2

Hey, are you one of those guys that believe that it's not the size of the wave but the motion of the ocean??? J/K:r
I prefer larger ring guages myself(52-60) but will buy and stock smaller RG cigars for when I want to smoke but don't have a lot of time to devote to a smoke. I'm also a 5.5-6.5 kinda guy too.

Depends on the cigar. For the Padron 64s, I like the Principe Maduro best, followed by the longer one with the same RG (this is a smaller RG). Has nothing to do with what size RG I like in general and everything to do with how the various PAMs taste to me - these just taste better.
For Opus X, I think I recently concluded that I liked the XXX and the big one (approx Churchill sized) best. Again, this was based an tasting one of each and those just tasted best.

The smaller sizes are handier when driving but the big flavor seems to be in the larger sizes. For just sitting around 5-6 length, 48-54 r.g.
I like the little ones 4 x 38 or so for driving. Seems like the bigger sizes get bumped into things.:u

It's about my smoking style. I really enjoy the raw smoke from the lit end. The closer to my nose the better it is. Those long jobs take too long to reach optimum distance. Once I light a smoke, it stays in my mouth until the very end. So, short and fat for me.:)

personally it all matters where I am at and how much time. Cause i hate to relite a cigar even if i have a cigar savor.
