Traveldor

What would Skeeter do?
I'm starting a new business, as some of you may know.

Travel may play a very important role in the growth of my company very soon. I own numerous small humis & traveldors, but may be visiting a few BOTL's in my travels across the country & I just can't bear the thought of not having a decent supply, & variety, of cigars with me when I travel, so.......am thinking of turning one of my 100 count humidors into a traveldor. Hell, it locks & who needs a change of underwear & socks anyway?

Welcome to the wonderful world of travel :pu

Tip: Call motel you will stay in and have them confirm smoking room always ask for the one down at the end -- tell em you don't want to offend anyone with your cigars. Why -- most of the end rooms are oversized and you get a large room at same rate you can also exit and be down the stairs quick if your in a hurry.

Anyway, How do you convert a humi into a travel humi?

I used to just take a few of my cedar cigar boxes that had a tight seal, season them, put a climax or Dry Mistat tube inside and use em as travel humidors. If you pack right you can also use sealable freezer bags and a tube or hydro pillow to keep em fresh.

If you travel alot you may find that less is better and the more you do it the more compact you will get. Nothing worse than lugging shit around from place to place. :c

Last: If you ever traveling to the Boston, New Hampshire, or Maine area drop a line. Love to meet up with you and share a smoke. :u

What is your new business?

...100 count humi? How long are you going to be gone?! :D

Maybe we should line up across the country like a marathon path and hold out fresh sticks instead of water cups. :w

How long will you be going?
How many cigars will you need to take with you?
Is this mostly driving or flying?

If you make it to richmond leave your cigars in your room...I got ya covered!

when i'm gone, it's normally more than 2 weeks (sometimes over a month), and i find that my small Elite travel humi isn't big enough. so, i got a 24 count OtterBox travel humi off of C-bid last week for a whopping $22 (before shipping). i then went to the local shop and asked how much they sold the exact same thing for, and it was $100!!??

my suggestion, if you're gonna be gone for 3 weeks + at a time, go to C-bid and win one of the biggest OtterBoxes you can get.

this holds 32
and this one does as well

good luck.

My new company is called MicroChem Solutions. I will be selling, brokering, & setting up a dealer network for Xado.
I don't have my own website yet, but you can check out the product at www.xado-us.com.
I have no idea where I will travel, or how long I will be gone from home. Xado is pretty new to the United States & growth will be somewhat capillary for a time.

Have you used their product yet on your car? How does it work? also, how much is the stuff usually?

Of course that link IHT gave to the black otterbox that holds 32 cigars on cbid has a bid in from DC in Reno. I think he's a good guy, so you ought to bid on the gray one. :D

Yes I have.

It is chemical micro technology that welds a cermet (ceramic metallic coating) in the friction pairings of a working mechanism (in place repair). It restores the original geometry of the part & improves gas mileage(about 10%), increases compression, increases oil pressure, reduces emissions (CO about -80%, HC about -50%), extends the life of the mechanism & is good for one year at any mileage. It is tougher than steel. I keep looking at California & their emissions problems. This is huge with trucking companies. Beaver Express just bought product for their fleet (there is a testimonial on the website from Beaver Express).

For a gasoline engine with under 60k miles, the cost is about $80. Over 60k....about $113.

I could go on & on, but this is a cigar forum......

Any questions, please pm me or e-mail me at ahat at fisus dot net.

I just missed that auction by 3 minutes!!! ARGHHH!!! At least it was somebody I know that got them!! Congrats. Guess I'll bid on the next one!? :D

I've been bidding on those for a while. I set my max bid for what I would want to pay for one and figured eventually I'd get one. I lost a lot of the auctions for that otterbox but finally got one at the limit of my financial pain threshold.

I'm happy to have it. I'll be visiting New England in August for about 10 days and can now pack a supply to hold me over. :D
