What are your thoughts on the La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduro No.4, Padron Londres, and La Vieja Habana Cedar Chateau No. 2? Tastewise, construction, etc...

I just bought two of each of these and I like to hear people's thoughts on cigars before I smoke one so I can compare my observations to other's and to see if I can see the nuances everyone else does.

Just something I like to do :)

I like Padron in general....the La Veija Habana is a good smoke too.
Padron is creamy and Medium probably. La veija is medium. Maybe a bit spicy. Good. Not had the LGCSR5 yet. wow thats an abbreviation haha. Check out top25cigar.com. they've always got good reviews if you cant find them on here. Good luck.

Yep, I look at Top 25 as well, but I like more personal responses as well, so I come here and post this.

Thanks for the replies thus far!

And yes, that is quite an abbreviation!

I like the Padron and i do enjoy the Londres vitola. Decent amount of smoke, good Paddy taste etc etc Dont have any experience with the others though, sorry.

I'd suggest NOT seeing what others think of them before you smoke them...that way you won't have any preconceived notions of what the cigar might be.

Only one I've had of the bunch is the LGCSRM4 -- a very good cigar with a kick to it. It's a favorite of mine; but one I can't have every day. Be sure to eat something before smoking it ... you'll get a buzz either way. :)

I have been through a few boxs of the Padrons. Construction is always consistent,Taste is rich with some choc. notes(maduro)lots of smoke and a nice long finish...Dave

I would say you can always find a problem with any cigar but the Padrons offer very good consistency overall.
The Londres was one of my very first vitolas that I purchased on a regular basis from Padron.
I think it is a very good value overall.
Don't have any experience with the others you list.

It doesn't get any more personal than the reviews in the Top25 Review database. The reviews are done by average people like you and me. Not paid professional shills you find in the magazines. In fact, many CS gorillas have reviews in there.

The LGC Serie R Maduro is a rich and tasty cigar, but has just a bit too much nicotine for me. First cigar that made me nearly lose my cookies. ;)

The La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduro No.4 is in my opinion a very powerful cigar. It's overall constructions is fair. Some are well constructed. Others well, let's just say look like toilet fodder. Every one that I have tried have produced huge amounts of sweet smoke. The taste has been strong yet pleasureable.

The Padron line of cigars have been like other BOTL's have said, consisent. This cigar brand seems to have the prefect cigar mold that they grind up all the tobacco, mix it with water and drop it in the mold for that flawless shape. One of the best constructed cigars made today. The taste of a Padron has been one that I am not thrilled about. Too uneventful or just bland for my liking.

The Vieja Habana Cedar Chateau No. 2; this is one of the ugliest cigars that I've seen. The constuction appears loose but it isn't. The preconcieved flavor and aroma of this cigar seem as if it is gonna rock your world, but it doesn't. I found this one to be very inconsistent. One cigar is mild, very aromatic and sweet tasting. The next one will be flaky and harsh. I can't figure this one out. I don't know if I hate them or love them. :pu /:dr

The best thing is that you get to experience these cigars for yourself. Thanks for asking my opinion, but what's good to me may not be good to you and vice versa.

I know long ain't it?

Hell, he did ask for our opinions.

Dirty Dee, that was exactly what I was lookin for.

Thank you everyone for your words! I am going to let all these cigars sit for a week or two before smoking, and I bought two of each so the others will have a longer resting time.

Sorry for my stupidity, but does "vitola" just mean shape or cigar or what?

Right from http://www.reference.com

Cigars are commonly categorized by the size and shape of the cigar, which together are known as a vitola. The most common shape is the parejo, which has a cylindrical body and a round cap.
The parejos include the following vitolas (from shortest to longest):

Robusto (aka Rothschild)
Panatela
Petit Corona
Corona
Lonsdale
Churchill
Toro
Corona Gorda
Double Corona

I liked the La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduro, but as stated before you have to look for one with good construction.
Have not tried the others.
