What flavors do you like in a cigar?

I'm pretty flexible. Well, not really. Everyone tells me I'm picky. About everything.
I just like what I like, ya know?

Likes:
Sweet
Spice
Chocolate
Caramel
Brandy (like Padron)
Champagne (like Fuente)

Dislikes:
Lots of pepper
grass
green spray paint
poop
Whatever it is that a Miami 8&11 tastes like. To me, it's indescribably putrid. I'd rather smoke a dead possum.
 
Im open to all tastes.....

except:

metallic taste from a boli RC
starting to dislike pepper.....

My beloved tat brown label was surprisingly gross the other night...
 
To be perfectly honest with you....i have not graduated to the world of picking out all the flavors you listed. I know i don't like the pepper/spicy feeling....still seasoning the pallet to absorb all the flavors.....

I don't get any of those tastes in my mouth, they're all in the back of my sinuses. The only flavors or sensations I really get from my mouth are the bitters. If a cigar is absent of bitters, I'm happy.
I get the creamy/buttery/dairy thing in the back of my mouth.
Some of the sweet I get on my tongue, too, but that's about it.
 
Mine seem to run along:
coffee
chocolate/cocoa
vanilla
peppery

Dislikes:
CAO
cigars that have the "tobacco" taste, as in like a cigarette.
 
A little pepper, sweet and some chocolate/coffee. I like milder cigars so it's a bit harder to find flavors in them.
 
If a cigar is giving off notes of cedar, cocoa or fresh coffee beans, I'm in heaven. The Pepper must be tastfull.

Any odd flavors like paper, grass or heavy ammonia that don't immediately dissapear and I'll toss it.
 
If they come up with a chicken noodle soup cigar, I'll be the first guy in line.
If I can beat FishForFree, that is. :)

Nuts
Chocolate
Coffee/Espresso
Butter/Cream
Earth
Black Pepper
Cloves
Leather
Wood
Tobacco
Hay
Rum

Flavors I dont like:

Wet Dog
Damp earth

There are many other flavors that I like and Many more that I dislike... I'm just listing the flavors that I've been able to detect in the cigars I've reviewed.

I like complex flavors that are ballanced like coffee and cream or nuts and butter even wood and earth. I dont like one dimentional cigars where one flavor, like black pepper, overpowers all the other flavors.

:tpd: , although I've never tasted champagne. Nice!

Add cedar, bread, nuts and fruit (just not citrus) to that list of "likes." I guess I'm easy to please.

Dislikes:

Wet earth
Mushrooms
Not much into dry, leathery smokes
 
I'm still not even close to being able to make out all those tastes that you are talking about. Yeah, I know when a cigar is bad but aside from that I am not that cool right now.


But it's memorial day weekend. You what I'll be doing!
 
I wish I could really taste everything that you guys do. I'm much more general. However I do know what I like when I taste it.

potpourri
creamy (Let it be Vin, just let it be.)

Harsh
cigars that dry out the mouth
sharpness
bitter
pepper

spice (mostly pepper)
coffee
chocolate
earth
pretty much anything "dark", I guess
floral but not too sharp

dislikes:
wood (like fuente)
dry (like fuente)

Burnt 7-year old Madagascar vanilla is what I've been leaning towards as of late. :ss

On a more serious note, I enjoy cigars that have coffee, cocoa, and woodsy flavors. On occasion, I crave for sticks that have a spicy profile. Freshly mowed lawn is a flavor I do my best to stay away from, but my luck brings me a stogie delivering that taste every once in a blue moon. :pu
