What high end lighter would you reccomend?

I absolutely love my Xtend. Simple, elegant, jet, lifetime waranty, and best of all, its not a POS Colibri! The only (slight) complaint I have is that it can get kind of hot when you try to really toast the foot the correct way, but its not overwhelming and its merely a minor inconvience.

I would go with the St dupont Xtend I my self have three

Dunhill or ST Dupont for butane regular lighters. Davidoff is a good one too, but is made by ST Dupont.

ST Dupont and Porsche Desgin are the most popular high end torch lighters. The Dunhill torch (trench) lighters are fabulous, but the price does keep many away.

I have a windmill that I bounce off a table, drop to the floor, and bang around often and it still works great. Plus, it has a lifetime guarantee.

How's this?

ST Dupont X-tends:

I hope this helps

I received a ZIPPO BLU for a Christmas/Anniversary present. It's the coolest lighter I have owned. As for jet lighters it doesn't Bar-B-Q the foot like the triple flames.

Don't mean to hijak this thread... but does anyone have a standard ST Dupont with the "cigar tip" installed? How are those? What's different between the cigar and the cigarette tip? Anyone know?

Another vote for the X-tend.... I have the gloss black, my prized accessory, it was a gift from another BOTL.

I've seen DuPont Xtend's be run over by a Mazda and picked up and light on the first click. Be run through the wash over 50 times and still work perfectly. Simple design, many superfluous parts other lighters have are simply removed. Most other parts that are normally formed from plastic on other lighters are either made from metal/ceramic or made of much higher quality plastic. Plus, lifetime guarantee.

MY advice as someone who attempts to fix 4-5 Colibris/Prometheus a day...

BUY A DUPONT XTEND.

Was at my local cig. shop and asked to see the DuPont Xtend's that they had behind the glass. Gave it a try many times and told the guy that was waiting on me that IT didnt work. He said that it might be out of fuel. He took it and clicked it many times and nuttin. They he checked the widow to see if he had fuel. He said yes it did. He retried it and after several times (4 or 5) it finally lit. He said that maybe it had a "air bubble"? And also said that you have to use the lighter and not let it set for a long period of time. I thanked him and went on. :2

And????? They are a mechanical device and may not be perfect even when new. They are however one of the best lighters in a lot of peoples opinion that actually own them. I am sure they do have the occasional problem even new but overall are awesome lighters with great style, name, function, and warranty.:2
