What is the 1666 story?

Just to recap...I guess that this line is sort of like the Padilla Obsidian in that it's marketed specifically by online retailers ( I haven't seen them in any B&M and their not on the Manufacturers' website catalog) and the respectful company that graces the band probably doesn't officially have anything to do with the line but perhaps takes in some sort of royalty for name association to help sales. If anyone else can shed light on the true story chime in!
In compairing the two mentioned cigar lines, one thing in common with the Obsidian and 1666 that I found is that they are both faux maduro in that they are painted with vegitable oil or something to make them dark and that they could both use a while in the humidor to burn off their 'greenness' before smoking.
One thing that is certain is that they are not the worst cigars I've ever tried and in fact make a good everyday smoke for short cash...Come to think about it, this is the last day that Cbid is running a special on them and for the money you can get them their, it's worth a bundle or two. My:2

I was given 5 as a gift after a larger online order and had been searching the net for some information. I am pleased to have found this thread.
