What is the longest time you went unwillingly without a cigar

SilverFox

Seven Down 33 to Go
Ok let me clarify what I mean. I went away a few weeks ago to a family wedding across the country and my wife asked me not to bring any cigars as her family is dead set against it and in reality there would be very little if any opportunity to smoke. She was right so I figured what the hell I will gain a few points and agree straight off.

It was in fact there was no opportunity for a cigar during that trip, hotels, other peoples homes, etc etc so ten days go by with no cigars for the Fox. Then get back home and the couple of days of getting the kids ready to head off to school etc and just really no time enjoy a stick.

Now we are at 13 days and counting, thinking ahh I will have one tonight, I will fire up the comp log on to chat and have a smoke with Al and whoever else on chat might care to join us. Damn if the cigar doesn't taste like crap and I have this feeling in my chest like something isn't quite right so no cigar for me. Fast forward 5 more days and I finally shag my ass to the hospital to get checked and lo and behold I have pneumonia, it was brutal so obviously no cigars for me. Now we are at 20 days and counting pneumonia is getting better and I figure I will bring some sticks when I go fishing with the lads. Well several of my cigars get smoked this weekend and none of them by me, I am still trying to kick this dam disease.

Long story but I am at 23 days and counting and this is not a ban by choice or normal course. I typically smoke 5 to 10 cigars a week and enjoy every single minute of it. Buy the way I feel it will hit 30 days without a stick.

Anyway just curious how long have you gone without a cigar and not really by choice if that makes sense.

Oh and thanks for the rant space :ss

First off feel better soon Shawn :)

I think the longest i have been was 10 days when I had the flu last spring

I recently had an upper respiratory (sp?) infection, brought on by allergies, & went 7 days without a cigar. I generally smoke about 3 a day as of late. It didn't nag at me like quitting cigarettes did, but I missed it for sure.

Am sorry to hear of your troubles, but am glad you are still kicking & in anticipation of an enjoyable smoke in the fairly near future. :)

Shawn I hope you feel better soon that stuffs nothing to mess with.

This June and July, I probaly went 5 weeks without because my girlfriend came home from school and I wanted to break her into the idea of my new found hobby. She's now all for it as long as I don't do it around her. But I guess that was more of choice?

Unwillingly? 5 weeks last May willingly, but you asked for unwillingly.

Midnight mass was 2 hours once, and I didn't think people would mistake my cigar smoke for incense.

Unwillingly - 4 months...and let me just say that at 1 stick a day or 4 (which I was at the time) AND no caffiene cold turkey as well - Life SUCKED!!!!

Man that's rough. Hope you get better soon.

I have gone recently for about a week due to a sinus infection. It was terrible. I tried to burn one before it was time and it tasted like pooh.

Hey Shawn, I hope you feel better bud! Rest up my man, the cigars will be there when you return!

feel better fox! ive gone 5 months without a smoke when i was running a boat for a guy out on the west coast for a summer. he didnt allow smoking and would complain when i came back smelling like smoke so i stopped. claimed his dog got sick everytime i smoked.

anyways

feel better pnemonia is nasty stuff make sure its gone, health before cigars

Fortunately I've never had to go that long, but one time I was at work tracking a package from CI, saw that it had been delivered to my house and was really excited. Then I got an urgent crisis call from a client and had to stay in the office late enough that I no longer had any desire to smoke.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Get well soon.

My longest was probably about 21-25 days after my daughter was born. I was lucky to get 30 minutes to myself let alone the hour + I prefer to enjoy a cigar during that stretch. Whenever I did get a little extra time then I always had something that was more pressing like taking a shower. :p I still don't get to smoke nearly as often as I would like but I can usually sneak in at least one a week.

I usually go all winter. We have an enclosed porch, but I still live at home with my parents. So out of respect for them I don't smoke on it, even though I could probably open both doors and have a stogie. November is usually when I call it quits. I like a cool evening, but I also have to drawn the line :ss

Thanks for all the well wishes folks. Wasn't my intent to sound like I was looking for sympathy for my pneumonia sorry about that.

Was more interested in hearing how long you went without and why it wasn't by choice.

As usual the jungle shows its class :ss
