What's the price barrier that makes you baulk?

$7.

I draw a line in the sand. I have to. NC or CC. It would be economically irresponsible for me to pay more than that.

However...I should get about $2/hr in raises this year. So I just might bump that up to $8. :)

And if the gubmint sends me a tax rebate check this summer, well HELL, that's free money son! I would almost have to buy me a box 'o them fancy-shmancy ceegars! :r

for me probably $4. I cant justify more than that, and I can get plenty of good stuff for less than that, and stay well within my budget.

but every now and then everybody's gotta splurge. :ss

there really isn't a barrier that applies to all cigars, but there is per cigar.

one example, I won't pay more than $1 over MSRP on the fuente stuff. I can get it at MSRP at my home shop, so when I'm out of town and the guy is telling me what a good deal $15 bucks is for an opus or anejo that retails at 7-8 bucks, I just smile and say I'm not interested

$15.00 And like most here that is subject to change, I will splurge on a $30 stick to see if all the hype is true. Most times it isn't.

At the point my hands begin to shake when I hand the B&M guy my Credit Card or when I say.....damn I could feed a small central american village for the price I am about to pay for this stick that I am going to set on fire and become the epitomy of american greed.......................whoa crazy ass tanget I just went off on. Must be the lack of carbs.

I say about $11

I used to think it was $20, then I coughed up for a box of 26 #1s. I used to think it was $25, then I picked up a few boxes of Intenso Robustos. Then $30 was the limit, but I now own 6 boxes of Padron 80ths. So I'll have to say that currently I wouldn't cross $35 easily.

Also the higher the price, the harder I am on the grade. So far I've had two sticks that were above $30 that were worth it (to me).

Brian,

I'm curious, what were those two sticks?

Ji
Ji,

The Davidoff Diademas Finas I found to be quite excellent. That one cost me $30.71 cents when I bought one. The second was Padron 80th. The first review I did I said they were worth about $25 or so, but I've had 3 more since then and they have really grown on me.

On the other hand, while the Stradivarius is good the 5 I've had all agree, not worth more than $20. Next up the Zino Platinum Chubby from the CA top 25 list.

Depends on my circumstances. Everyday cigar purchased online, I normally keep it at $3 but I'll go about $5 per stick before I stop & think. Everyday cigar purchased from one of my regular B&Ms, $8. If I'm at a lounge somewhere that I really want to be, $10-12 is OK by me. However, I'll spend more on something special. $15 for a Hemingway or Anejo is about my limit, but I've spent as much as $30 for other special editions or CCs. If I'm traveling out of the country, it depends on how much $$ I have and my mood. It gets confusing trying to remember if you're converting to Peso, Euros, RMB, HKD, etc. I'm still searching for my ultimate $2 stick.

This thread is funny.
I wish I had the same restraint as you all...well, maybe not. :D

hahah Sean.. how much for one them in your signature, top row, 3rd from the left..... actually don't tell me, I'm really afraid to know. :]

Ten bucks usually. unless its something special. but i never pay more than MSRP. Unless its a cigar that is no longer in production and worth it...

About $10
Any other cigar I've tried over $10 had disappointed me or didn't think was really worth the $$$. For $10 I can get a padron 64 mmmmmm.

Hard for me to get excited about a $30 NC cigar. I can't imagine it being nearly 3 times better than that 64 maddie waiting on me! :2

The only time I did not buy a cigar because of the price was the Stradivarius. Turns out I was probably right not to spend the thirty odd bucks. I don't think I've spent more than about $25 on a single cigar(Pad Annis), I'd have to say that $30 would likely be a high as I would go on a single smoke. When you figure you can get a goodly amount of superior cigars for that amount, it would hafta have one excellent rating for me to take the plunge! Luckily, there aren't too many stogies that run that high!
Subject to change, your mileage may vary!
