What's your trick your getting a good breath after a smoke?

I can't take credit for the suggestion, I think I saw it in a post from either Poker or Deem, but gargle and wash out your mouth with lemon juice, then brush with toothpaste.

Might sound weird, but it works for me. Kills that "cigar tongue" feeling too.

I read somewhere - probably on CS here somewhere - about eating an apple after a smoke. I tried it with mixed results. Something about the acidity and texture of the apple.

One day, I went looking for an apple but had none in the fridge. I did find a recently skinned and cored pineapple though. I took a chunk of it (about an inch square the entire length) and ate it. It did an amazing job. You could not tell I had just smoked down a Taboo Exotic blend just before hand.

I now have a standing order with the food purchasing department (my wife) to buy pineapple.

Citrus normally does a good job with taming the breath. I normally drink some orange juice and then I rinse with Listerine. That works pretty well. I skip the brushing because toothpaste and citrus makes a horrible nasty flavor in your mouth.

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if someone is got a good trick to get rid of the cigar smoker breath. I always brush my teeth and scrub my tongue with my liitle tool but the breath is still there. No need to tell you the comments I get from the wife!

So did anyone find a magic solution beacause I ain't stopping no matter what!!!

Whatever you do, don't gargle with mouthwash following a long smoke. Call it a near fatal rookie mistake. My tongue and taste buds, happy and stimulated, were suddenly all burned at the same moment by what seemed like a good idea at the time. Then they rebelled, and tried to kill me.

I screamed so loud, the guy across the hall in my dorm at college heard me.

I just get my wife to smoke one with me. Then we both have cigar breath!:tu
:tpd:
A buddy of mine had a girlfriend who complained when he got drunk. So, he got her drunk before getting drunk himself. She didn't complain that he was drunk.

Back on topic, do you drink water with your cigar? I find a bottle helps the smoke go down very nicely. Kinda still got that stale breath afterward, but with a brushing, you should be ready for "Evening Maneuvers" :ss

Take Care Ya'll!!!

I was at an Olivia event not that long ago and one of the reps there said that he eats a handful of natural almonds after smoking cigars to clear the taste and smell out of his mouth. I've tried this a few times since and it works surprising well. Very easy to do when you are out and about too if you can't brush your teeth or something.

I don't think I saw anyone mention "saline mist" to hose your nose.

I've been doing it for a few years now each morning and I think it helps with allergies/hay fever.

I also hose after a cigar and after brushing and it seems to help.

I use a lot, not just a couple squirts for moisture. I got with about 6-8 per side and then blow. Invariably some even runs down your throat. Sounds nasty but give it a try.

Well I have two options That you could try. One, you could choose to eat some Limburger cheese originated in Limburg, which is now divided between modern-day Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. Limburger is especially known for its pungent odor. The bacterium used to ferment Limburger cheese and other rind-washed cheeses is Brevibacterium linens; this same bacterium is found on human skin and is partially responsible for human body odor. Or two, you could eat some Liederkranz cheese. (Don't ask they just both smell worse than cigar breath).

In spite of its German-sounding name, Liederkranz cheese was a United States innovation, a recreation of Limburger cheese that was subtly different because the bacterial culture that ripened it was not the same. Liederkranz is an extinct cheese.

Like almost every American cheese, Liederkranz was a cow's milk cheese, with an edible pale yellow-orange tan crust, and a semisoft, pale interior with a mildly pungent flavor and distinct aroma (oh yeah) that could become unpleasantly ammonia-like if aged incorrectly. Liederkranz was created in 1891 by Emil Frey (1867–1951), a young Swiss cheesemaker in Monroe, New York, who created Velveeta there in 1923. (Philadelphia Cream Cheese was invented in another town of Orange County, New York.) Frey named the cheese after a local singing society, a Liederkranz Club ("wreath of song"), perhaps the famous one in New York, or perhaps really just on a whim for its Germanic sound.

The Monroe Cheese Company, the original source of Liederkranz, passed to new ownership, but Emil Frey stayed on and followed Liederkranz production to Van Wert, Ohio, in 1926. In 1929 the company was sold to the Borden Company. Frey retired in 1938.

So there you go. Make the smell worse then the cigar smell and she will thank you that you smell so mild and sweet. LOL, let me know if this plan works for you. :r
