Where art thou sweet ash

With the Cigar Room nearly finished, I'm focusing efforts on finding a suitable ashtray.

Since the room is somewhat minimalist, with only a couple nice leather chairs and a sidetable, I'm thinking that a gaudy, chunky ashtray may be the way to go. Something that makes a statement!

Outside of the obvious choices like a Stinky, can any of you offer a good suggestion for an ashtray that makes a statement? Mind you, it needs to fit the decor of the room (think Modern Havana- hard wood floor, black leather chairs, modernist table, framed vintage cigar ads on the wall). That means no cigar store indian statues with ashtrays bored into the head :r

There is a beautiful Africa by Don Lino ashtray that is sweet. La Flor Dominicana makes a nice big white ceramic tray. I have also seen the Partagas 160 ashtay that is really different. I have seen all of these at my local B&M. Good hunting!

It's simple, large enough for several people over a length of time, several resting spots, and the gloss black ceramic goes well with the black leather chair look.


If I ever get some free time and get around to it, I've made solid wood ashtrays before myself on a lathe...it just takes a chunk of nice hardwood, time, some short lengths of stainless pipe (buffed to a shine of course), and many many layers of durable finish.

I really like the ceramic padron ashtrays. They are black with gold lettering. I have been looking at them for awhile I just have bought one yet.
