Where do you smoke your cigars?

Wetterhorn

Human Rain Delay
Recently my daughter implored me to no longer smoke in the basement. She said it stinks up the whole house. At first I told her, I pay the mortgage, so I get to smoke in the basement.

But after some reflection, I decided to take my smoking elsewhere. The American Legion is my #1 choice, but I get a lot of nasty comments down there. So, I returned to my humble abode and bought some air purifiers. They help a bit, but my daughter still complains.

Luckily ( :c), Fort Collins does not allow smoking other than at the cigar shop. Now, I like the cigar shop, but I don't like the prices. So I only go there on occasion.

So, my question for you all, where do you smoke and where would you recommend that I take my hobby to?

In the summer I smoke on the deck, now I'm smoking in the garage.

There are a lot of cigar friendly places around here and Uncle Mikey's shop is 10 min away. I have plenty of plaes to go, but more often than not I'm on the deck or in the garage.

Tough one man, I'm barred to either the patio or the balcony. God forbid that my wife catches me smoking inside the house. Go to a public park, sit underneath a tree with a big shade, fire up and enjoy the scenery.

On the back porch. Luckily, I live in Arizona and it is for the most part a year-round activity. Never in the house. I could if I wanted to, but I know the smoking stinks up everything and I just don't want to.

Good for you! Very decent of you to abide by your daughters wishes -- because, well, she's right, it does stink up the house. Not to mention, second hand smoke is irritating, especially if you have no choice.

As others, we have some fine establishments here that are cigar friendly. If i smoke at the house, it is outside. In the winter i have one of those patio propane heaters (which my wife got me for my birthday!)to take off the chill.

Not to belabor the point, but, i think it is wonderful you quit smoking in the house for your daughter!

On the front porch or out back on the deck. When its really cold up in the garage. The park in the spring and summer is another location.

Its great that you listened to your daughter..

right now, in my garage with the door up about 2', and a portable heater (thanks to coppertop) pointed at me....

normally, on the back deck with my wife, son and dog. on the weekends, i might get my neighbor, coppertop, and an old army/fantasy football buddy of mine who is lucky enough to be stationed here for a year to swing by for a smoke...

if i'm by myself and it's nice out... wherever. the backyard, frontyard, garage...

i don't have a designated smoking room, although i wish i did.
didn't someone post photos of the half of the garage they turned into their smoking room?

Great idea, all my garage is used for is to pile stuff in.

I'm an outside smoker ..backyard deck or the front patio for me.I also love to take a drive and smoke, listen to music and enjoy the scenery as I cruise. :z

I've been seriously thinking about making a room in the garage.Since it's a big two car, there's plenty of room.I've got the ok from Lisa and if taxes don't hit me too hard I'll get it started in the spring. That will be very cool!

I smoke on my front porch. Not too much scenery to look at but at least its not too cold in AZ.

As for your problem maybe you can frequent your local smoke shop for the pleasure of smoking your stogies. You don't have to purchase something every time you go but it is customary to buy stuff once in awhile as that is what keeps your smoking lounge open. I do that with my local smoke shop cause I've recently stopped buying and smoking so many domestics. But my local guy is cool, he knows my obsession is an ever-changing monster so he understands I might not buy as many smokes as I used to. However I do buy a lot of my smoking accessories from there and just last week I stopped by the shop and left him a little "gift". Needless to say he's always happy to see me.

I live on the 3rd floor of a condo, so I go out on my little 9x5 deck.
It is great in the summer b/c of the view - being so high up I can see a few miles of treetops of the woods. It s*cks in the winter though. For example it was about 12 degrees here in NJ on Monday night. I had so many layers of cloths on I looked enormous - my wife thought it was pretty funny... :tpd:

I smoke either in the front driveway or in my back yard so I can play with the dogs a little. The idea of making a smoking room sounds great, just need to talk the wife in allowing me to do that.

:p ..........I'm lucky I guess. I'm able to smoke in the basement in cooler weather with no complaints.
Last nite I took a couple of brews a HdM Petite Robusto and enjoyed them in the hot tub, with about 16" of freshly fallen snow. THat's always a good-time!!! :w

In the summer, patio. I am truly blessed. My wife just bought me a new screened in patio for Christmas. :D I can't wait for the warmer months. Winter, local cigar shop or cigar bar. We have both in my town. Only problem is you have to buy something to stay and hang out.

I like the space heater idea, but I have found that I usually don't need one here on Maui, so I just smoke outside and listen to the waves.

I smoke outside in the front porch when it is not to cold and if it is I make due with out. I am moving next year and looking at adding a negative pressure smoking room of the back of the house and a walk-in humidor.....of it is great to dream isn't it. But ya I just went out last night to a club in TO. Image that smoking indoors in the people's republik of Ontario {loL}. With all the anti smoking stuff going on up here who knows how long this will last.

Depending on temperature and weather conditions I smoke

in the car,
in the garage,
inside with the windows open and
outside.

Since I live in the sticks, I don't have any nearby smoker friendly locations so that cuts down on my options.

cheers!

When the weather is nice I love to smoke out on the back porch. Reno has a lot of cigar friendly places so I can usually find one when I'm out. Lately I've just been smoking in my car or in the garage.

Like many here I use the garage, which can get pretty cold this time of year in NH.

On the brighter side it is guaranteed piece and quiet, so enjoy it!
