Where to get exotic wood?

Being Bob the Builder!
Me and my gramps are building a upright cabinet humidor. I want to find either Cocobol, Bocote, Amboina, African Teak, Macassar, or Bubinga wood for the outside and then line the inside with 1/4 or 1/2 inch Spanish Cedar.

Anyone know where I can order the wood?

I know its kinda of pricy but still going to be cheaper than buying one already built. Plus the sentimental value will be worth it. It will probably be the last project with him and I want to make it a memorable one.

Thanks for the help Gorillas!

It appears that you live in/near a large metro area. The yellow pages are a great place to look for wood locally. You'd save a lot on shipping and be able to select the wood yourself.:)

Yea. I do live in a metro area but not to many lumber yards. I can find the cedar here. Only woods the places carry here are oak, pine, cypress, things like that. Nothing to exotic.

Try Owl Hardwoods in Des Plaines, Illinois. www.owlhardwood.com

If it's a hardwood, they probably carry it. (I've been to their Des Plaines location and the wood selection is mindblowing.) I remember seeing cocobolo and bubinga last time I was there, and I know they have Spanish cedar...lots of it.

Look up Hogan's Hardwood maybe, i hear them on the sports talk show all the time. IDK what they sell but they say "all the woods you are looking for"
