Why is it tearing?

LIKES-A da SAUCE!
I tried the search function, but nada.

I have carefully taken the band off of my cigars, but the last two have torn under where the band connects to itself. Am I doing something wrong here? Sometimes it just slides off, but when I have to remove it a different way it has been tearing.:c

I have had my share of problems w/ bands and trying to slide them off...... another thing you can do is peal them off from where they are glued.....but i've had troubles ripping the band when doing that as well haha

Are you trying to take the band off before you light it? Sometimes the band is easier to remove after you've smoked the stick for awhile; the heat helps loosen the glue and then it will slide off or peel off easier.

Ahhh.. sooo wise.. Why the hell cant I think of this stuff.. DOH.. I just take it off cold.

I assume you mean the BAND is tearing?? Or are you talking about the cigar wrapper tobacco?

Band: Probably have run across a stick or two, or a brand that uses more glue than others. Sometimes, the heat from the ember, as the ash approaches the band will help the glue release without tearing. Sometimes, a dab or two of moisture (saliva comes to mind) helps. Sometimes, the band will not come off cleanly, no matter what, then it's F%#k IT time. Using a knife almost always causes me to cut the wrapper. Probably have to be content with saving those that you can, and giving up and tearing off those you can't.

If you mean the cigar wrapper: Probably have run across a stick or two, or a brand that uses more glue than others. :D And the glue runs out onto the wrapper, and sticks, and begs you to try harder to get that damn band off, thus tearing the crap out of the wrapper! Leave these bastage bands on as long as you can, so as not to ruin the cigar wrapper any sooner than necessary.

Svillekid and Catfishm2 are right--let the stick heat up from smoking, and usually the band will free up a bit. Some are easier to remove than others; I've all but given up on removing Tatuaje bands, often just smoking right through them. I swear they must use industrial cement on their damned bands.

I cant remove fuente bands without ripping them and they have pretty bands too :c ehh oh well and oh yeah definitely agree with above comments let her heat up a bit, before making your move! ;)
