Wireless Hygometer/Temp Unit

I went to my Local Fry's Here and they have quite a few models there. I got this one

It comes with one Remote sensor. I'm salt testing it right now. I can't believe the Price $21 for the base station and one remote sensor is crazy. The model I got can hold up to 3200 readings from 1 sensor 2100 readings if you're using all three sensors. It comes with software and a cable to hook it up to your computer. You also can set alarms on the base unit to go off for min/max temp and min/max humidity. Quite good if I say so. Also I'm probalby going to have to buy another one because everywhere online that sells the Remote sensor which is model TX7U sells them for a minimum of $19 + shipping. Fry's price is great.

That is the exact model, but I got mine in all white!

Let me double check the cable. I know on the base unit the connection looks like a phone jack, I didn't even bust the cable out of the package yet. I do have a USB cable tht emulates a serial port so I should be good. just the fact that from the unit itself you can check the Maximum and Minimum readings along with the average readings should be enough for most people. At $21 it's a steal. I'll let you know how accurate my remote unit is when I get back home tonight.
This looks like the way to go when getting into a coolerdor.

I just picked up one from Radio Shack. I think they are discontinued as I had to get the extra sensors from a different location and I took the last two. If you go to the store they can do a search and let you know if any in your area still have them in stock. Here is a pic...

the extra sensor is item# 63-1092 (these are 3.97 ea) Think I will check and pickk up a spare if any other stores around here has them. By the way I tested these with the Boveda calibration kit and all were spot on.:tu

Cozy is that a Lacrosse unit? If so do the sensors look like this http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/tx7/index.php? If so for around $3.97 a sensor that beats the internets price of $20 each.

The sensor looks like the one in yazzie's post. Under 50 bucks for a complete set-up.
So I got one of these La Crosse units based on the good reviews they have in this thread. It was incredibly inaccurate, there was a 10-6% difference in the actual RH and RH the La Crosse unit registered.
I spoke with the La Crosse tech people who said that was an acceptable margin of error. I explained that it was not, and asked if they made any accurate products. After getting the company line for 10 minutes on how +-7 was accurate I asked for a supervisor, and then another supervisor until someone finally admitted that they do not make anything with an accuracy > +7/-7. :hn
I returned the unit to the retailer and I will not be doing business with La Crosse in the future.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I assume since these are meant more for keeping track of weather they may find that +/- 7% as tolerable in the case of a humidor you want it to be on. I know thta's why we usually salt test to find out how much it's off by. Mine is about 1% off.
