would you pay $229 for 14 cigar bands??

I think it comes with the cigars too. It's just advertising the bands to get around the not selling tobacco policy of ebay. You're paying for the "bands" but it happens to be still on the cigar.

I like the "These bands have been properly humidified" :ss
 
see though, with that one, they are just showing pictures of the band - i would be wary, most people trying to sell tobacco by advertising them with bands, also show the stogies. Plus if something happened, you can't do anything about it, they were selling you bands after all.
 
Tobacco CAN be sold on ebay as long as the packaging is worth more than the tobacco. but 229 bucks for 14 opus X is still kinda extreme

As others have said, creative marketing since Ebay bans tobacco products.
Note he says they have been well humidified and then in the body of the ad, he gets more daring:

You are bidding on (14) RARE FUENTE FUENTE OPUS X!
 
I'm sure it is legit...you will get the cigars. He has good feedback. Like the other have said...this is how you have to do it if you want to sell on Ebay.
 
I've often wondered about these type of auctions, but I guess it makes sense if its trying to get around the tobacco regulations
 
I met a guy at a recent herf that had picked up one of these auctions. He swore they were fakes, and I believe him. Just one auction, but caveat emptor.

Well, you'll get cigars. He sure does sell an awful lot of OpusXs. Personally the fact that he finds so many rare cigars & chooses to sell them on ebay versus the various message boards raises enough flags for me to pass.

AHAHAH..yeah that made me laugh too. And i don't know about you all but i know a B&M that has these alot, even though the cigars are available on certain months or so.
