Xikar 3 Cigar Case

Since it is cedar lined, is it a good idea to keep it seasoned by leaving it in my humidor before use? or it doesn't really matter?

It wouldn't hurt. Go for it.

:tpd: But I don't think it is necessary. The Xikar cases isn't a travel humidor as well is it? I think by keeping it in the humidor would help keep the cigars at a stable humidity for a longer period of time as the cedar would absorb some humidity, but if the case is kept dry it may suck moisture out of the cigars when they are first added to the case.

Since most people use the Xikar just for the evening/afternoon, I don't think it would hurt by not putting in your humidor but if you have room, it definitely wouldn't hurt (IMHO, of course).

BTW - I keep 2 Xikar Envoys in my humidor

Hope this helps

Ok I stored it in my humidor for the last 10 days, but had to take it out because the smell of leather was overpowering everything. My humidor is not that big (150ct) so that may be why. I guess I'll just put it in there the day before I plan on using it.

Who's got room for cigar cases in thier humidor? I thought humidors were suppossed to be stuffed with cigars? :)

I have a leather three finger case, I use it for the evenings out maybe an overnighter, I just throw the sticks in there and go, and I dont store it in my humidor, and have had zero problems, mines actualy at my desk now, herfing with a friend after work......:ss

if you're interested in a travel case that has a humi element, check out the famous catalog-they advertise a 3 finger dealie from perfecto that i got at a local for $9-it's abs, no cedar & has an element at the bottom-i took it apart, removed the foam & replaced it w/beads-b4 going out, i add 3 or 4 drops of water to it, just enough that if i forget it in the van for a few days, the smokes aren't ruined-comes in real handy for hiking-i keep a leather one for nights out cause it looks better

I only use mine to carry some smokes for a short period so I don't feel the need to store it. Plus, it does carry a strong leather smell.

I think they keep cigars at the level of humidity that they are when they leave the humi. Think I read that on their site.
