Maybe Brits call distilled water 'mineral water'; yikes, I hope so! If not, definitely save the mineral water for drinking and the distilled for ironing & humidification.
Oh, and just to clarify a little on madurolover's (and a couple others' on this thread), the 50/50 solution regulates the humidity and keeps it at about a perfect 70% relative humidity. I picked up a bottle of Xikar 50/50 not too long ago.
Lots of guys on here like beads. While I don't have any yet, they seem pretty nifty and probably better than what's inside your humidifier (green floral foam). You can get a tube of them (the beads) and throw it in one of the cigar slots in your travel humi. You still add solution to them, either 50/50 or distilled water.
Hmm...since the beads do a really good job of regulating humidity in their own right, I wonder if 50/50 is overkill. You might just be better off saving a little dough & just filling the beads with a little distilled.
