Generally I cut off a small amount, the best thing about them, is they give you more room to work with them a traditional cigar. Always aim to cut off to little, because if you cut off to much, then your in for a hell of a time.

Most of them are pretty good, and they really are a good alternative if you can't afford the real thing. Do a search on them here on the forums, I actually had a thread about this same thing a couple months back.

A little tip you could also try. With all my cigars, just to ensure that they are not to wet when I go to smoke them, I cut them about an hour or two before I actually go to smoke them and then just let them sit out of the Humi, this allows them to try out to a point, by not enough to do any...
