I have a lot of beads in my coolerdors and was wondering if anyone knows if reverse osmosis water can be used instead of distilled. Just wanted to ask because I am buying an RO system soon.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) removes a high percentage (not all) of the minerals, nitrates, and phosphates, but not silicates.
Although not as pure as distilled, it can be used without worry.
RO is most often more pure than Distilled, depending on level of equipment. Given my knowledge in the industry, I would almost always choose RO vs. distilled.

That may help this discussion, yet again.
I have let my membership in the WQA lapse, but it can be a good place to look if you are looking for information.
Well, double distilled vs. Thin Film Composite membrane vs. garden variety distilled vs. TFC-HR membranes...Ahhh I was lied to! Damn engineers here always pulling my leg :r
Thanks for everyones input. Going to start a reef tank soon so I will have a RO unit. Thanks again
