Anybody tried the Victor Sinclair...

I tried the Red 55 which is a serious full bodied cigar. I was light headed for an hour after smoking that sucker. lol oh I also tried the Connecticut Yankee Robusto and I would not recommend that one.

I bought a sampler of 20 vintage selects a few months ago and am letting them age for a while as per the reviews I read on top25cigars.com

Hopefully they will turn out ok. For a buck a smoke I guess I can't expect too much though

I liked the Vintage Sinclair Bohemian Black and the Vintage Select.

I intensely dislike all the other VS I've tried, including Primeros, Series '55' maduro, Series '55' corojo, Bohemian Red, and Triple Corojo

Oh boy. I bid on the triple Corojo and the Vintage Select. Guess which one I landed? That's right. Vintage Select. Oh well. I got them for $19.00 for a box of 20. That qualifies it for a Cheap Smoke Review!

I dont think youll like em, even for a buck apiece:hn

I had a triple corojo tonight. It was awful. Neither my friend nor I could finish them. Tasted bland, like smoking a cardboard box. My friend said his tasted like soap.

I think my review to 'Mean' Darrell was that the Triple Corojo tasted like a road flare.

OTOH, I really like the Connie Yankee and those aren't dyed. They do come pretty wet from c/i but they are a good, cheap yardgar after a little resting time.

Ive smoked many VS lonsdale nats...Its actually my father-in-laws favorite smoke. Construction wise Id give them a 8. Of the ones I've had they always burned great and I've never had any draw issues. They definitely need a little age though. You catch them young and they suck. Flavor is mild, and one dimensional, Smooth, creamy. Over all an average smoke. I never turn one down.

Ive also had a few 55's....I was not impressed. I prefer the regular line.
If you can buy a Victor Sinclair, buy it because it is worth the time for the price. Nice smoke. Especially like their tins for a short smoke. Again, they are worth it!
Best,
Ylo2na

Actually smoked the Triple Corojo earlier tonight. Wasn't impressed. Didn't get to the corojo part until there was about 2" left.......

That's my :2

I have had a few VS's, not sure exactly what blends, but they were all :tg:pu:tg. I will never waste my money on those again, but everybodies tastes are different.

I couldn't tell you which blends are acceptable and which taste like a flaming, paper grocery bag that's been left on your doorstep by the neighborhood kids.

However, there are exceptions to what I just typed above and in reality a few of the blends are "ok"...

You won't have a great smoke but a few of the blends are somewhat creamy and are allright for the money.

The "decent" ones won't wow you but they are ok and just fine for smoking when you just want a cigar while doing yardwork.

I have some VS cigars in one of my coolers that are probably a year old by now but I can't remember which blend they are.

They look to be nat's or Connecticut wrapper and are chisels. They are an allright, medium-light bodied, smoke for when I just want a cigar and not expecting to be blown away.

My :2

I've had a couple of their maduros. They age their cigars (at least some of them) the what I call "quick and dirty way". Everytime I've smoked their cigars I ended up with black stuff on my lips because they dye their cigars to make them look aged. I won't ever buy their stuff again. Thats just my :2 worth.

Wow thanks for the heads up Just smoked one. All of it (ick) and will not do that again. Then was looking for what others were saying about them and would you know it I found your listing here and went and check the mirror and low and behold Some light brown was going to be going to the store glad I checked first. Priorities. LOL Mine was a 55 Longsdale. I have to say I liked the regular 55 Longsdale. But the Maduro 55 is one I will not buy again. Glad it was in a Sample I bought and not a box....
