B&M Getting Angry AT YOU?

I don't have much experience with b&ms because all the ones near me are pretty crappy. How often would you actually expect to see plume on a b&m cigar?

That's what I was wondering. I haven't seen plume except in pics and I haven't been in a B&M in years but I really don't think it happens often.
 
I thought about pointing out beetle holes on just about every cigar I picked up when going down this one isle at my local B&M, but I didn't want to be known as that guy.

I think someone finally decided to be that guy though when they wiped out two 20 foot long shelves about a week later. :D
 
I just thought of something...
I ordered cigars from Tinderbox in Mesa about a year ago. Matt (mithshrike) told me about them and there were a bunch of things I wanted to try, so I gave them a shout.
The guy who worked there was cordial, professional, and helped me out a lot.
When the sticks arrived, a Cusano 18 paired maduro was drilled full of holes and the wrapper was loaded with poop. I had no knowledge of tobacco beetles at that point, so I looked it up.
Once I found it could become a real serious problem, I thought calling him to let him know was the right thing to do. He was very thankful, told me he'd send me another stick, and was both friendly and appreciative.
I didn't take him up on the new stick, and he said "Well, how bout I just get you on your next order then?" I okayed that, but have never ordered from there again. Just haven't had cause.
If I ever get to Mesa I'd like to go see the store and meet him. If I remember right, his name is Paul. Good dude.

It does amaze me that some of the things happen at B&M's, but it's retail.
There's a reason why people do so much online shopping nowadays. Retail gets worse and worse every day as the margin shrinks and shrinks.
There's a reason why we appreciate a guy like Rob at Taboo so much, too.
It feels good to be treated right. :tu

When she stopped to draw a breath, I suggested that maybe I should be the one who was angry being she just ran into my car and tore my ass up for it.
Pointing out the obvious didn't have a very calming effect. :r
I really wasn't mad at all though. When she went for her next breath I told her I'd be up on the hill talking to the folks and she could catch up with me there once she played out.
She calmed down about two weeks later.

Yeah... and I bet SHE was covered in mold, too. Some people... :D
 
I guess it's a good time for me to point out that I've never seen mold in one of my local B&M's.

It's not all of them.

Yep, people get upset when they know you're right!

I'd point out the mold anyway; be a good samaritan for the guy who might not know better, buy the moldy sticks and get sick or something.
