I'm going to go against the grain here.
Whatever you bring, expect to see 1/4 smoked cigars in the ashtray - it's gonna happen. It's gonna make you made wheather it is a $1.50 Padron Fumas or a $6 Choix. . . at least it does me.
Now, IMO, I think anytime you have the opportunity to share cigars and make an impact on people - why not give them the best? I've given out many a Cuban to those that don't appreciate it and don't know what the heck they are smoking. But if just one person in crowd comes over, asks about the cigar and strikes up a conversation - it is worth it to me.
Either way, you are doing a great thing and they have no room to complain even if it's a Swisher. But I personally like to try and open eyes and introduce as many people as possible to this passion of mine.
Having said that, I've had people over to my house that I gave a Cuban cigar to. They smoked 1/4 of it and put it out. The next time they came over and asked for another - I politely told them no and grabbed a 'moochers stick'. I try to put it in perspective for them, I told them it was like walking in their house, grabbing a 6-pack out of the fridge, drinking one beer and throwing the rest in the trash. Some people need it spelled out for them. . .
