Candela leaves are only dried for a few days and are not allowed to ferment. As such, they retain the natural green hue.
They have a very sweet, grassy taste. They're worth a try, but are definitely not for everyone. These were very big in the 60s and 70s.
So they use a preservative to keep it green? Or will it brown up in my humidor if I leave it there for a year?
(Fuente Candella).
I bought two sticks since it's said not to judge a cigar on one stick. I smoked one at lunch. It was not too happy with it (Fuente Candella). To me it tastes like a very young cigar. It also had a taste of what I imagine chlorophil would taste like. But that might be the taste it is meant to have. I'll smoke the other tonight, if I change my opinion I'll be sure to update this thread.
