Cheaper Cigars

Are there any cheaper cigars that can compare to these or are the "cheap" ones cheap for a reason?

IMHO less expensive cigars aren't always less tasty but tend to be less consistent from cigar to cigar. (Not to say that there aren't some absolute dog rockets out there for sure.) Poorer quality control I suppose. For example, I kind of like the Nestor Plasencia (NP) 2004. I picked up 25 for $19.95 from Cigars International. I had received a couple in samplers and liked 'em. By and large I find them enjoyable, especially for the price. I wouldn't call them special occassion cigars by any means, but IMO a nice everyday smoke. At that price I expect that every few cigars (probably 1 in every 3-5) won't be up to par. On the other hand, at that price I don't feel bad pitching one now and again. I'm fairly frugal and I understand that many on the board probably have a higher price point than I do, but if I pitch a $5 cigar I'm somewhat unhappy.

On another note, if you really like the RP Connecticut, PM me. I've got a few taking up space. I'd be glad to hook you up. Nice smokes, just not my thing. Likewise, I've got some RP Edge Lites I feel likewise about (prefer the regular version).

Punch Rothschild in any wrapper (nat, maddie, double maddie).........still one of the best deals out there.......50 for about $110 shipped from various vendors.

and for those of us who are lifting up the couch while the wife shines a flashlight looking for loose change... I would give a thumbs up to the Sancho Panza double maddy's also National Brand at Famous is a good bundle smoke as is the La Floridita they carry there as well. I always say this... paying more doesn't always mean getting more. Well unless it involves taking the wife out for dinner and a movie. :D
