Cigars Purchased at an Estate Sale

brigey

WAR EAGLE!
Have any of you BOTL ever bought cigars at an estate sale? What is your thoughts about this type of purchase? :ss

There are treasures to be had; but you have to wade through a crapload of...well, crap to find them.

And it takes diligence, patience, a lot of time and a lot of know-how. Which is why there are people who do that for a living.

Are they selling a humidor at the estate sale? In other words, how have they been stored. If they spent too much time out of the humi, they might be bad. If they are a bargain, they might be worth it. Weigh your options.

If they're in a humi and the hygrometer says 65/65 - Yes. Is that unlikely - Yes. Dust on the box - (Do we really need to go any further?)

It would be a treasure hunt....you may come up with crap....but you may find something really cool....I would always try to at least take a look;)

My experience with estate sales has been mixed. It really depends on what your time is worth to you. There are good deals to be had but it takes a lot of time to wade through the :BS
