Cutting or punching cigars..what do you prefer?

I cut most of the time, but if I can see that the cap is small or poorly applied, I won't risk it unraveling with a cut so I'll punch instead

it really depends on the gar. if it has a flat tip than I will usually punch it if it has a tappered end I will cut it. But every once in a while if I really want to get a good taste of the cigar eve with a flat back I will cut it. So as to really enjoy and cretic it.:tu

I start with a punch on NCs and cut if needed.

That's exactly what I do with marcas I've never smoked...

Hard to clip, and then decide you should have punched a stick.

If I think a stick is gonna have a tough draw, I'll skip the punch bit and go straight to the Palio

It depends on the cap of the cigar I am smoking. If there is a nice cap, then I can cut it without worrying about unravelling. If the cap is barely there, then I punch so that unraveling is not an issue. I prefer to cut if I can though.

:tpd: :tu

If you punch them it's better to have the right size punch for different ring sizes to get a better draw. The Victorinox Swiss Army Cigar Knife has three different size punches (it also has nice sharp scissors and/or a knife blade if needed for a torpedo)

I take my cigar ballroom dancing then I find a quiet out of the way corner where I can seduce it, bite it and suck the life out of it.

It's like something out of a vampire novel.

I've been using a pocket knife to cut the equivalent of a punch lol.

I need a punch cutter though for the keychain. :)

I recently discovered the beautiful simplicity of a punch. They're great!

But I gotta say...If I'm smoking a really nice cigar, I need to cut it. Just feels right.

Always cut. Straight or V depending on the cap and what cigar. Use a "PAL" single edge cutter from the Pincover Industrial Supply Company. Takes a bit of extra time, but it's worth it to get it just the way I want it :)
