Honestly, that's what throwing them into a humidor for a while is supposed to do, get the cigar just how you would like it.

I prefer my cigars on the soft side myself (70-72% RH), so what I do is keep one humi at 65% (put just out of the UPS packing cigars in there for a week), then move them to my 70% humi for a week or more, then eventually I'll put it in my humidor-jar (my "soon to be devoured" humidor :D)

This system takes more patience, but assures the smokes are hydrated at the proper level for my maximum enjoyment.

It's not expensive either....a jar humidor is $20...throw in a humi-care pillow instead of using the puck it comes with ($1 extra)....and a cheap 20-30ct humi can be nabbed from cbid for about $10, then add in one or two humi-care pillows. That's about $33 in goods, which will help assure better enjoyment of your collection.

The man likes it when it's given to him hard. He doesn't want to screw around with some flacid piece in his mouth. It just feels right to him.

The members here are only trying to help, do not just discount what they have to say because you feel you know better...really, read, listen, there is more to learn in this hobby than one could ever truly grasp

As many have tried to express, in between the useless drivel, it is personal preference. :tu

As for advising 'noobs', I would caution it is personal preference for them as well. Experiment until you find what you like :2

First you claim to be a newbie. Now you are talking to newbs as if you aren't.
Methinks you are trolling.

Tread carefully.
