Does anyone hate the Gran Habano Corojo #5 as much as I did?

Man it was terrible. Tasted like chemicals and grass. Am I crazy? I've had the Cusano Corojo before and I loved it. Let me know your experiences!

It's one of my favorite cigars, think that I have 6 boxes in my cooler at this time. Perhaps it was a little too strong for your liking?

It? Was it just the one? They are pretty good IMO, so I would try another if I were you.

It's funny, because I enjoy all 3, the #1, #3, and #5, and that seems odd to me that I would like each different types of the same kind.

I've got a couple hangin' out if you want round 2... :tu

I like these Gran Habanos. They have a very enriching taste.

Sometimes I have burn issues and am correcting the burn a bit too much.

I guess it could be but I haven't had any problems with any other "strong" cigars. But maybe you're right....

HAHA, yeah that would be sweet. i was just about to say I guess I should try it again.

I smoked a Taboo Costa Rica Maduro like an hour before I lit that Gran Habano up. Maybe that had something to do with it?

The other thing that I am wondering is what the date was on the box that held your cigar. I have found that the 5 series is a little rough if the cigars are too fresh. I have some dated Jan of this year that I will not touch until Jan 09. Hopefully you will enjoy the next one more.

That is actually one of the Gran Habano's that I enjoy... it is a pretty strong cigar and to me had a one dimensional flavor, but at least it was a good flavor and kept me smoking it throughout the whole thing. :ss:ss

Yeah it might have been a little young. I didn't check the box, it was a gift from my buddies. He only got me 1...

:tuI like the #5 as well, but for me it wasnt one dimensional, in fact, in my opinion, it was pretty complex as far as moving down the stick goes. It seemed that each third was a different cigar, one of the things i like about it.

I never give up on one until I try at least 3 with some time in the humi. If I don't like one I'll get a couple more, let one sit a couple of months and try again. Same result, try another in a couple of months. Same result = give up on it and move on. :2

I like the entire Gran Habano line. They are budget smokes, but they are also GOOD smokes. They're certainly not Padrons or the like, but the #5 is a very caramel laden, semi-strong smoke.

The burn issues I have experienced as well, but let's face it -- they're cheap smokes.

I bought a box of the Corojo #5 a little more than a year ago. The only complaint I have is in regards to the burning of the wrapper. I tend to like 'em with a tight burn line....but these seem to char-up quite easily. One other minor thing....ugly ash. All in all, a good value for the $$$$. :2

Like most of the others, I have nothing but good things to say about GH. I like the #5 fresh and with age. With some age, they turn into totally different cigars. More refined and smooth. :ss

Since corojo baccy soaks up water like a sponge, I will keep these in the low 60's.

My box must have been bad too as they tasted just like yours. A year ago when I bought them they were bad and last week after 1 yr of age they were worse. I smoke very strong cigars (eg La Gloria R) and these tasted like petrol.
