Favorite Place to Smoke

Dude, you need to have a HERF right there!! I'll bring the scotch and you bring the Cohibo's.

Haha! Deal. I was very lucky, bought the place when I was in my mid-20's in the mid-90's when real estate was "normal". Just wanted a little bachelor pad and a place to have a cigar and a beer with a nice breeze. Probably why I'm STILL not married.....haha.:hn

But yeah, there will be a HERF there, you can count on that. Like I tell my buds, the wood on that deck is brazilian hard wood, or ipe, and is completely fire proof (even sinks in water, I tried it), so its "cigar-proof"! :ss:tu

Here's some pics of my smoking deck:

The view through those trees, its so calming.....what a great place for a smoke....

Costa, just think, about a month and a half until greenhead season. Where I am on the north shore we get those plus the salt marsh mosquitos. Makes me hope for a breeze or a smoky fire before going out on the deck. Can't wait for the better weather.:tu

Tell you a funny story, and anybody who has been to my place can attest; if you're on the deck, unless its dead still, which is almost never, there is always a breeze, you never have a problem, nothing. Go to the front of the house where the house blocks the breeze, and its an issue. May be the elevation too. I don't know what it is, but I have been there since '96, and its the most insect free place I know..........or maybe its all the cigar smoke! :ss:chk

The picnic bench outside my dorm...Unfortunately I haven't found a really nice place to sit down and smoke yet here. I did go hiking this past weekend and had a nice small smoke at the top with a very nice view.:tu

I love the Lewis River; great photo! Have you ever anchored up on the Columbia for spring nooks? That is definitely one of my favorite places....
Coincidentally, a nice 25 lb king conned me out of a Trilogy Grande Cameroon this morning! Long story, but essentially, I lost the cigar and I lost the fish.

This is the type of place, where, it probably wouldn't matter what I was smoking. Luckily, they're PSD4's. This is my favorite place to smoke a cigar in the entire world -- add to it, with my favorite person. That's my dad at the helm, as we get in an early back troll on the Lewis River.

I just thought I'd share my favorite place with you. Please post your pics if you have something special caught on film that you love.:tu

To many places to name, but one would be my local B & M:tu. Has a great lounge w/ leather recliners:sleep: and awesome coffee:hc from the gourmet shop across the street. No wife, kids or other distractions. And the company of a great bunch of regulars.:ss

Well, you did ask for my FAVORITE PLACE....so it'd be with some of my fam at my bro in-laws house in CT. (I'm standing....on the left)

Ahhhh, the firepit. I love those things, if it gets chilly, a chair, cigar, and drink by one of those is the best.

Great pic.

Yeah, I've fished that spot quite a bit in my life. I'm originally from Vancouver, so the North Fork of the Lewis, the Cowlitz, Kalama, etc. have been rivers we've been hitting for years. You just reminded me of a funny story I like to tell about having a fish on and trying to keep your cigar going. (Insert drool and Larry Flynt impression here). You know what I mean? That drool running down your cheek, the smoke in your eyes so bad you're crying, and yet, the fight of your life is on!

Here's a pic of a bright one caught in the mouth of the Lewis a little over a year ago. Feel free to make fun of the hat -- it's LUCKY as all get out!!

Enjoy every day with your Captain Brother!! :)

If my Pops was still around I would have had him slipping down the slope like a madman! :ss

My Favorite place to smoke is out on the reservoir but most of it gets done here -

My favorite place to smoke a good cigar is with the company of good men and women any where as long as I dont get too cold.
getting cold sucks.

Nice fish! LOL! I totally know what you are talking about - this one last Friday hit the bait hard as I was standing next to it finishing the cigar; I was caught totally off guard, and ended up w/lit cigar on floor, ashes swirling, and a surging heart rate. It turned around after about 100 ft of pull, and I was able to bend down and throw out the stub...

Next time you're down this way, message me; I'll have a seat on the boat for you.

Man, this thread gets me pumped for summer. Getting ready to take out the outdoor furniture and tables, get the outdoor speakers put back up, and fire up the firepit and take in that nice breeze with a great cigar with friends and family. Who knows, may even host a herf at my place someday. :ss But home on the back deck is where my heart is..........

That is a awsome right there!!!:tu Sweet spot !!!

Mine has to be my parents garden with family and friends on a Nice sunny sunday after the BBQ....ITS THE BEST!!!

We live on a hillside in deep woods above a large saltwater bay called Henderson Bay. So many Douglas firs and madronas that it's dark.
You can touch the trees from our upper deck, where I have chairs, tables, hanging baskets of fuchsias, cable TV through the dining room glass door and a Rocky Patel Sungrown toro.
