I had a large tupperdor with about 50 cigars in it, all cigars where in cello. I finally decided to get a new humi which arrived today so it was time for the cigars to come out of the tupperdor and their cello into the humi. The cigars had been sealed in the humi for at least 2 weeks (nothing in, nothing out). While going through the cigars, one (a Padilla Hybrid for what its worth) had a bug hole. The cigar was purchased two weeks ago. I immediately inspected the cello and it had no holes. I inspected every other cigar (and then inspected every cigar I have) and no more holes. For what it is worth, I am freezing the Padilla if for no other reason to test the freezing method for the first time. But I decided against freezing the rest of my collection and they are happy in the humi now. The question is, it is possible for a beetle to bore a hole then die? Is there anyway to determine if this hole is new? I plan on keeping a very close eye on all my cigars over the next few weeks, but could this be one of those things where I happen to have discovered hole #1 and tommorow my humidore could look like a golf course of do you think it is more likely this was a once off hole and the bugger/buggers are dead?
