Heartfelt beads RH% - what is right?

OK, for now I ordered the 65's, I have 4 oz. of 70's. If my humidors are not tamed by this time next week I'm going ballistic. hehe

Might as well add on a a few Lbs. in Bulk for the large Cooler you will soon need :D:ss

Good choice on going with the 65%

remember it'll take awhile to drop RH when switching beads-when i went from 65% to 60%, i actually had to wait till winter (lower humidity in OH), open the humis to "dry" the cedar to drop the RH, then put the 60% beads in, wet 1/2 & dry 1/2-someone pointed out that the beads release better than absorb, i've noticed this too-i've also noticed i can get 64%/65% using 60% beads, i just wet more of them than usual-it's also good to remember that cigars w/a lot of criollo or corojo (like cubans/pepin stuff) smoke better IMO between 60% & 65%-hope this helps

I think 70 is actually good for long term storage as you are making sure the cigars don't lose too much of their oils. I try to keep mine at 70 but it usually drops to 67, which works out for me, too.

It is true that a cigar at 70 often needs to be relit numerous times, in my experience. What I would really like to do is to keep those for longterms storage at 70 and the others at 65 or even a tad lower (not at 60). But I can get the same effect from simply planning ahead and taking out the cigars I want to smoke a day earlier. They will be just right the next day. Problem solved for zero money.
