How's Your Customer Service?

I just received two orders this week for my 600 count humi. While I was happy with the first order, my second order was from Famous Smoke and WOW it was night and day. The box arrived filled with air pillows instead of these fun little styrofoam peanuts that seem to stick to your hand as you are trying to get them off. The cigars are perfect and Gary Korb at Famous Smoke not only answered several email questions, but my answer was waiting for me the very next day. While we have so many places to choose from for our puro's, I just wanted to say :tu "thumbs up" for the entire crew at Famous Smoke. So with that being said, how has your customer service and order experience been lately? I thought it might be nice to hear some feedback from everybody on your recent experiences.
Time to get that :2 out.
Peace
Michael

I've had excellent service from Famous as well on EVERY order. Another top customer service vendor is Taboo. I wish all the companies were this conscientious.

placed my first order from the devil site last friday. first time using my CC, and i forgot to activate it. was declined, i figured out what was wrong and activated it, but they were already closed. had to wait until monday. sunday afternoon i got a call from a cbid.com, and was a very nice lady letting me know that the card was approved and the order would ship monday. order arived today, packed very well, without the annoying peanuts. wasnt the BEST customer service ive had, but worth mentioning none the less.

Never ordered from Famous, but I have ordered several times from Cigars International.

I have also completed several returns including one box return. I don't know what the Famous policy is on boxes, but I really like the fact that CI will let you smoke a cigar out of the box and you can return the box with 19 (or 24 or whatever the case may be) for a full refund. If you smoke more than one, they pro-rate the refund.

Another aspect I thought was top notch was the issuance of shipping labels for return. One way to ensure my repeat business (aside from selling quality products) is to providing free shipping for customer returns. I frequently change my mind or find I don't quite like what I ordered. This works out for the business as well as I usually order something bigger on the return. :)

Just my :2.

CI is INCREDDIBLE customer service. FAst deliver as well! today i recieved a 20 pack of cigars instead of a 5 pack. I wrote them an email explainign thigns and they told me to keep it because t was their error. I got 5 vegas miami cigars for $1 each because of it!

Well my latest experience was with the good folks at Taboo. I called Friday night at 7:00 PM, spoke with Patrick, placed my order, received everything, packaged to withstand a nuclear attack, on Monday! Combine that with the incredible prices and Rob's tasty Taboo blends and you have a winner! :ss

I agree! Famous and CI (those I most often deal with) have excellent customer service.
Famous seems to take a little more care in their packaging from what I've experianced...

Most of the cigar places I've dealt with have good customer service. I've ordered from Cigars International, Cigar Bid and Cigar Fox without any issues at all. Cigar Fox in particular was outstanding. The only place I've had problems is Thompson Cigar, and even that would have been okay except for the damned telemarketers.

My story, though not recent, concerns cheaphumidors.com.

I ordered a humidor that came with some freebies: a cutter, a jar of humidity gel crystals, and a bottle of PG solution.

The jar of humidity gel got damaged in shipping and had a crack in it.

I emailed them over the weekend, just to ask if it was safe to put PG solution in there, or should I transfer the gel to a different container.

I had a replacement jar of gel on Tuesday.

That's right, they replaced (via overnight shipping) a freebie item.

When I decide to get a bigger humi, I will definitely buy it from them.

Famous and CI are both great with their customer service. They both have fast delivery, answer your e-mails quickly, and both have competitive prices. Another one I like is Atlantic Cigars, the last order from them took 19 hours from order to delivery, tuff to beat. Atlantic also has great customer service and good prices on most cigars. The only one Ive really ever had a problem with was Thompsons (sorry for mentioning them). A couple years ago I placed an order that took 11 days to arrive. A few of the cigars were damaged so, at my expence, I sent them back. 9 days later I recieved my order of dry cigars.

Mike: Thank you (as well as the others here who chimed in) for the kudos on your experience with www.Famous-Smoke.com. We appreciate you spreadin' the word.
Happy smokes,

Placed two orders on Friday around noon. One was from Taboo, the other from JrCigars. I received them both today. Awesome!:ss

I went through some hoops with JRcigars once. Not too long back they had an auction up for Camacho Triple Maduros. Boxes of 11/18's. Bought two of the boxes for the price of one along with about 5 other bidders doing the same or similar. Two days later I get a call telling me they are out of stock of the 11/18's. I went through what I thought I could do by asking if I can wait or if they would substitute for a different size and they wouldn't do anything except refund my money. What really did it for me was checking out their site 5-7 days later and what do you know.. IN STOCK! Arrghh!!
:hn

I haven't used their auction site since!

Taboo is great and I can work some magic on CI. However, most of my cigar purchases are from work (TexCigars.com), Habanos Torres, or the local Tinderbox.

Edit: Work, of course, is great and the prices can't be beat on the employee discount. Habanos Torres, Tim is one of my good friends so customer service is great there. Over the past year I have developed a friendship with the guys at the Tinderbox and I always get treated well.
