Today was the last day for me and Rocky. I had an R4 maduro that I had to use a napkin the entire time in order to wipe off the dye from my lips. Now, I expect this when I have my Phillie's Titan with maduro. However, I do not expect this from a major manufacturer.
This also isn't the first time I've had issues with Patel cigars. The only, and I mean only, cigar I've ever had that almost plugged to the point of being unsmokeable was a Patel Vintage Connecticut.
Now, I will admit that I have not tried all of his blends (although, of the ones I have tried, I haven't been overwhelmed). And, actually, it wasn't that the R4 was a bad cigar. It was actually pretty decent, and so was the vintage connecticut. What I cannot accept is the lengths to which they are going to simply produce cigars. I think that a manufacturer that is willing to cut corners on some of their blends, are willing to cut corners on all of their blends. I know that I would not see this with Fuente's or Padron's. So, for all the Rocky lovers, there will now be more available for you. Rant over, thanks
