Life comes at you fast!

I got the great news yesterday. The pathology report showed that the cancer didn't spread. Nothing in my lymph nodes. My surgeon doesn't expect I will need chemo but it will be the call of the oncologist at the end of the month.

Now I am just trying to get back to normal. The pain should go away soon and I hope to be back to work at the end of the month. Hopefully this ordeal is almost over. (except for the checkups every 6 months for the next several years)

Thanks again everyone for the support :tu

Great news Dave, Im very happy for you and your family :)

Got awesome news today. I met with the oncologist and he said that we had caught it at an early stage and that he didn't recommend chemo because of how successful the surgery was. Instead of chemo he is going to do preventive checkups every 90 days for the next year and then will rethink the timeframe after then.

One more hurdle is the surgeon letting me know when I can get back to work. I meet with her next Wednesday and figure I will return to work the following week.

Cigars and scotch are still on hold for a couple more weeks but I am definitely going to pick a nice restaurant to go for a celebration dinner tonight.

Thanks again for all the support. :tu

That's big time awesome news! I'm thrilled for you - let's just keep those check ups clean - :tu

the goat grins and so do I, I'm more happy for you than I ever thought I could be for someone I've never met. God bless :tu

I can officially say "I HAD cancer" I met with the surgeon and everything is healing fast. I got the call from the Oncologist today about the blood test results. They wanted to do an extra test just to make sure nothing was missed and they said it was negative. I am returning to work this Friday July 4th. (Yeah, I hate retail)

I will still have to sweat the next 5 years to hope it doesn't return. I get to visit the doc every 90 days for a blood test and exam but not a problem as his nurse is hot. :D

To thank my parents for all they have done for me during this I made them a standing rib roast with herb roasted baby potatoes. They didn't know I could cook. They are leaving Monday to head back to Florida and it is going to be too quiet in the house now without them here.

Thanks again all. Even the doctor said it is remarkable how prayers and positive thoughts from friends can help to make a remarkably fast recovery.

Had to share this. A friend I haven't talked to in years surprised me with the following. I had never heard of Edible Arrangements. Almost didn't want to eat it but my parents and I have been devouring it one strawberry at a time.

Great news and remember those thoughts and prayers are of the "time release" variety… so when everyone has gone home and in the months and years to come they will still be working. You are not alone. :tu
