Lighter recommendation?

I have owned and used a lot of torch lighters over the years but the only one I recommend now is a Volcano triple torch. It has a lighted visible display of the butane storage. This lighter works like a champ and is amazingly low priced. The first one is only $10.95 and each additional one is only $5.50. I got them for home, work, car. Just use good butane and shoot some canned air into the nozzle area once in a while.

I personally prefer butane lighters that have a soft flame to torch butane lighters - easier on the leaf, and the torch isn't strictly necessary unless you're in the wild out of doors; there, they do certainly have their place.

I am a big fan of the Dupont, Dunhill, and Savinelli/IM Corona lines - great lighters, never broken on me, and really nice looking. The soft butane flames are wide enough to get a great even light, and burn hot enough to avoid bad taste - perfect combination, and they're soft enough not to make the light bitter from too much heat. Also great for us folks who bounce between cigars, pipes, and cigarettes and don't want a separate lighter for each. Savinelli/Corona and S.T. Dupont in particular have some great lighters with two flames, to ensure a good foot torch.

I've graduated from Colibris a long time ago and the best lighters I've had are:
1. Dupont Xtend
2. Blazer PB207
3. Blazer CG001

I got a ronson jetlite and it works great, you can't beat it for $4.00

I have an Xikar that crapped out and has to be returned.

Dupont Xtend all the way.:tu I have a drawer full of others that no longer work.

As others have said already, Ronson all the way.
It works reliably and costs less than a stogie - what more do you want?

If you must have something more chic, my suggestion would be to stick with SINGLE FLAME lighters.
They are so much easier to control.

I have a NIBO Royal 44. I got it because I thought a triple flame would be SO cool, but it has been more like a triple pain in the ass! :BS

Bad 1: sucks butane like crazy. Seriously, I have to refill after every couple of stogies.

Bad 2: the flame is either not hot enough (too far away) or so hot that it sets the cigar ablaze!
So much for gently toasting the foot...

Bad 3: Unreliable. Broke down after only 3 months.

Spending anything over $20 for a lighter... well, I just don't see the point.
I' d rather invest my money in CIGARS. :D

Here and here.

Shipping is free, but takes a couple of weeks. $1.97 for 3+ of the small ones is a great deal. Get 5 or 10 for a little less each and you'll have plenty of spares.

They've got a ton of other stuff for cheap, too, have fun browsing!

I have the first one and it works great. It's replaced my Colibris. I also have a triple flame lighter from the same website but I think it's way too much for lighting cigars.

I know you already have one, but since you asked for opinions....
Get another Ronson and spend the money you save on more cigars! :ss

PS. the aluminum ones look pretty classy too!

I just bought one of these inserts so I will get to test this bad boy out. I figured for around $10 its worth a shot and they seem to be recommended here. I will post a review after a few months and see what I think.

I second or third the PB-207, but if you have an old zippo lying around the z-plus insert for $10 or so is a great lighter. Mine never gives me any trouble but does have a limited tank.

Davidoff (S. T. Dupont). Best lighter that I have ever had and the only one that I use anymore. I purchased one of the knock-off DuPonts from China (more like counterfeit, except I knew that up front) for under $60, and for the price, it beats anything that I have tried except the Davidoff. I gave it to my son to use.

If you do wind up with a Chinese copy, be sure and replace the flints with genuine ones. Makes all the difference in the world!

I really enjoy my lighter I got a couple years back. It is from Blie Rhino and it has been a trouble free lighter for me , I refill mone about every two weeks, but I am a heavy smoker

The Blue Rhino SAFARI powder blue pocket lighter is a functional refillable torch lighter for those on the trail or out on the town. This torch lighter is small, fits in the pocket and includes a key ring with a clip for those on the go. Use the key ring to hang the lighter on your golf bag, or on your belt-loop.
