Newbie Read - Updating Your Humidifier

wow, I was leaning towards getting the beads but i was a bit unsure how to excute them . However this clears things up perfectly they are going to be a great addition to my humidor, awsome post.

Well, Ron now has not only Enlightend me as to some Great cigars, but now he's given me humidor enlightenment also. This guy is great to have arond!
So, now it's gonna be beads, beads, beads for me.
And a coolerdor project starting next week :D
Great info Ron!
And by the way, a thank you will be going out to you next week after I get back from Prescott and all the little thank you's are in order.

Um...perhaps the most informative, most helpful post I have ever read. The pictures really helped me understand how to use the beads. It's beads or bust for me from here on out. This post should be added to the humi bead sticky.

Since i just got some beads and solution - I found this post VERY helpful! Mucho thanks!!!

Here we have installed the beads in mesh bag. Now you could do several things here. I’m using the mesh bag as an example – this is what the bag looks like when you order it from Viper. You could use pantyhose; place a screen across the front, etc etc.

The bag is fitted back into the case with the maximum amount of beads that will fit.

The spray bottle is filled with distilled water – and that is used to charge the beads.

Humidifier is now updated to the best it can be and reinstalled in the humidor.

It is a great post, I had this open awhile back when I was doing a desktop humi, same exact setup....pics were very helpful.

I tried doing this to my new humi which is a 100 count the only issue is that the old credo isnt very thick and I cannot put enough beads in the bag to keep the whole humi humidified. Great idea for a small desktop humi

Hmmmm - normally the credo size is correct for the humidor count so it may be that the mesh bag is taking up way to much room. I have done several where I just took some mesh and hot glued it over the openings - and then installed the beads. You can fit a lot more in that way. Matter of fact it was one of the Ashton humidifiers with a flat back but curved front. The design and amount of screw mounts kept me from using a bag - but the screen over the front worked out perfect.

Ron, just finished reviewing your Humidifier Up-date and Humidor Cabinet Project. Very impressive. Thanks to you for all the neat picutures and the abundance of photos and information. I for one am very appreciative, job well done.

Hey, maybe you can build a cabinet for me and others lol!

Thanks:u
