Pile of cigars. Free!

My wife works in the same place that I do. She said that someone had left some boxes in her office and that I would know if they were any good or not. I went and found the following.
I opened them up and found piles of cigars. They are definitely garbage(compost). They are all dried out and some have holes in them. There's a glass top cohiba box. Most likely the Cubans are all fake anyway. There are some Robert Burns Black Watch tubes as well as Hampton Courts, Garcia Vega. I don't know the story yet of where they came from. The cello on some look pretty aged.
What I'm going to do is freeze of the more interesting ones(beetles) and then see if I can get them back to life. Should make for an interesting experiment. I'll tell you though when I opened up the plastic container it wasn't the smell that you look forward to when it comes to cigars. It made me a little queasy.
At least I have a neat souvenier(the glass top box). I'll post more pictures as I go through.

Keep us all up to date on this. I wonder how well the recovery process will be for some of those cigars?? It will be interesting. Thanks for sharing...:tu

I sorted through some already. I pulled out tubos and some cello wrapped ones for the project. There were some Cuban tubos-RyJ, Partagas. Again I don't know the story behind them so I don't know how long they have been dry. They didn't cost me a dime so it's worth the experiment.

A friend of mine went to Cuba and he came over and told me that he bought me a box of Cohibas , I said "great , what do I owe you" , he took out the glass top box with the fake Cohibas in it with a little sealed bottle of water in it , nice yellow Cohiba ribbon , ahhhh
I tried a couple , nothing but hair , sawdust and some BS I think , they must have been sitting in the sun as the top row was 3 shades lighter than the bottom , that's them here ( just for show ) why I haven't thrown them out I dunno

My brother stopped smoking cigars in 2001. He had about 15 dried out old cigars in an old humi. I smoked a few and they were damn good. Don't give up on these!

are there any empty havana tubes that you don't want? i collect havana tubes and i would love to see if there are any good ones in there.
PM sent.
