Pretty sure I just pulled a tobacco beetle out of my mouth...

First time for me... killed it and kept on smoking. But I couldn't help but think about that old "X-Files" where the guy had cigarettes whose smoke produced tobacco beetles in other peoples lungs!

You guys are getting strange in this thread. Itchy butt dinosaurs, giant beetles, X-file induced visions of insect filled lungs, Rocky, Bullwinkle....Spring must be just around the corner.

That was one of the odd things... no visible signs ANYWHERE... unless you count the very live beetle on my tongue. :hn

I actually had a witness to the whole thing... ask BarneyBandMan. :ss
 
That is some nasty s**t. No way would I have kept smoking that cigar. I probably would have hurled. You are definitely a better man than me.

This makes me want to take every cigar I own and put it in the freezer. :hn
 
So I bought one of my favorite sticks, an Olivia V Beli, on Thursday at a great B&M that y good buddy, SmokeyJoe and I frequent a couple of times a month. Included in the purchase was a Hemi maduro and an El Rico Habano maduro. All three were placed in the little B&M plastic bag for the trip home.

We decided to pop into their smoking room and enjoy one, so I pulled out the El Rico, leaving the V and the hemi inside the bag. Another guy in there had just purchased a bundle of Quorums and handed one out to both of us. I took it with a smile and slid it into the bag.

I got the bag home and hurriedly put it into my "upper level" humi and kinda forgot about it, though it was indeed sealed tight. As I left to head to the Canes season ticket holder night, I just grabbed the whole bag. When I got to Smokey's place, he immediately dropped an Illusione cg4 in my lap. With speed and care I looked in the bag and pulled out the V to give to him. He lit it up and about half-way down, out comes the beetle.

I'm guessing the beetle was in the V long before it hit my bag. The Vs have no wrapper and the others did.

So there is the verification. And SmokeyJoe pulled it out, looked at it, called it names, squished it, and nubbed the V. :ss
 
Last week I noticed that BOTH my local B&M's had a few boxes with beetle holes. After that, and reading this thread, I think i'm just gonna order online from now on. Most places freeze.
 
I'm double freezing everything I buy from now on. This thread is making me want to pull my entire stock out of the humi, and stick it in the freezer for a few days just to be sure.
