Careful...he will make you work, Tom. The last guy that got in Mike's debt has to take all of the cigar pictures for his reviews. Every once in a while he blows a little smoke his way. But at least he gets fed!

You may want to wait until the fall when the weather breaks. To us Northerners its wicked hot and humid down there.

Very nice pics there !! The cigar looked good......but them crabs and taters and corn........:dr I will say that is the one thing I miss about my mother-in-law not living down there......the food !!!!!

And for Tom....

Trust me.....it can be brutal ( and I live down here ) !!!!!!

I don't know what looks better, the cigar or the food! I need to visit Louisiana soon. Even as close as I am to LA I still can't hardly get that kind of food here. Looks like you had fun.

I actually lived in Florida for a couple years back in the 80's, the heat doesn't bother me...and Mike, you could have whatever you want in my humi for a plate fulla crab or crawfish boil!

("Will Work for Crabmeat")....LOL

Well, its my fiance's cousin's birthday today and we are having a crab boil. I was planning on smoking a Jose Cueto Custom Salamone that azherfer gifted me (thanks dave!!!!!) on the 4th but due to a headache, i didnt want to smoke it and have a bad time doing so. Well I am glad I waited b/c today the atmosphere was great. I was expecting a strong cigar since I had heard that custom rolled smokes usually have more ligero than reg sticks and the size of this thing mixed with the ligero would kick my ass...but I was suprised to find it to be on the milder side. Sweet pepperiness throughout and mild to medium strenght went well with my empty stomach. Cant too much describe this one much b/c I was eating boiled crabs/potatoes/corn at the time. I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed this tho and look forward to the other one I have restin in the humi. Enjoy the pics and more to come!

What is the seasoning you used in the fourth picture. I try to have a boil at least every other month and am always looking for something new to try. Last month I cooked for 150 folks that loved the Lousiana Boil mix. I modify it a little but always use it as my base.

Thats zatarans powdered crab boil mix, plus we use the liquid crab boil mix, a bottle of louisiana hot sauce, and some lemon juice.

Man, your boil threads always blow my mind. They do look damn tastey, but you would NEVER EVER see anything like that around here. One day I'll just have to try my own (if I can find a decent recipe and a way to get a bunch of crabs like that without paying out the ass :r )
