The loneliness of a cigar smoker.

I feel the need to qualify that I puked twice THEN smoked a Salomones and then puked again LOL

What a day!
I know but we are limited to only 2 smilies per post.

Only Cigar I ever had a major problem with so far was a Legend white label. Thing was good, but so spicy it made my toungue hurt... Wasn't quite feeling right after that one either but didn't go the full yard and lose my lunch

Funny thing about this word Herf is that Down Under it is slang for puking:r

I've had one or two sticks that have made me blow in the past and some that have taking me close. I have found the opposite seems to work for me, where most people say have a good meal before a full cigar, I tend to find that I suffer less with an empty stomach. Not sure why:confused:

But yes I have had the CT Reserva Selecta and I didn't think they came much milder than that.

I'm with Joed on this one Nicholas. It's very tempting to start with the super star cigar - but the Siglo VI is very powerful and it will take away from anything you smoke next. If anything, be sure to space the cigars out as much as you can.

My first cuban was a H. Upmann Corona Major and it burned for two hours, then when I tried to get up I came a step away from falling on my ass, the next day I tried a Siglo II and that was even stronger. I would agree that you should start easy and work your way up to stronger and leave plenty of time in between to get some food

Coming from an ex cigarette smoker I can say I have never puked even with multiple strong cigars...Im 5 foot 6 143 pounds. But when I went out with Klugs and he led me through the Cuban progression...bolivar....montecristo...then the rip your brains out Juan Lopez #1...mid Lopez I thought I would need to call 911. Im light headed, sick to my stomach, heart pounding and didnt think I could even make it to the bathroom. I proudly say I didnt puke and there was no way I was going to show Dave how ill I was feeling. :r Thats my only experience like that...the closest was like 5 seconds of being lightheaded.

I gave a guy a Carlos Torano Reserva Selecta Churchill maduro the other day & it make him puke.

*sigh*

The only thing that every made me puke was giving a guy a nice cigar and him not finishing it....Ya Bastages.

I was playing golf with a buddy, Match Play, $25 per hole. I was down 4 holes with 6 to play when he asked if he could have one of my cigars. I had Ashton VSG Enchantments in the golf bag at the time.

I hand one over, clip it and light it for him. Somehow I manage to win the next hole and I'm noticing him looking a bit funny. (He's leaving the cigar in his mouth all the time...) I win the next 4 holes to be one up with one hole to play. The guy is turning greener and greener. Somehow he manages to birdie 18, a par five while I par it. We end up tieing.

He walks in the mens locker room in the clubhouse, lies down on a nice upholstered ottoman, curls up in the fetal position and starts throwing.

This man is a hero i my mind for winning 18 under the conditions!

I've never chucked from a cigar yet , but I have had the dizzy feeling and the light headedness . About 2 weeks ago at work I had a El Credito Apprentice cigar , medium , half way through it I thought I was gonna spew , I put it down and ate some chocolate straws , felt better after a little while , I relit it and got that same fuzzy feeling after a while longer . So I ate more chocolate straws and chucked the stogie after about 2/3rds . I've had LFD DBl ligeros , JDN Antanos and other full cigars that didn't whack me like this . This was by the way the first one from a bundle of 25 that I was able to actually smoke , I tried about 5 others that were all plugged from the same bundle . I'll try another one real soon as the flavor was real good . :D

Had a RyJ robusto NC, way too early in my sampling. On a empty stomach, it made me feel like I had a hangover, without the enjoyment of being drunk first. Just sat on the couch and waited, but nothing ever came up. It was a bad, bad day!!!!

Worst it ever got 4 me was smoking some cheapo stogie (Bances), nauseous & headache. Never again. But i do notice that out of my friends there's only 3 of us who enjoy cigars, with me being the top enthusiast. Just wondering if anyone else are in a similiar situation with their local friends. :w

The closest I've ever come to hurling was smoking my first Camacho Diploma....strong ass cigar, but tastes soooo good. It's one thing smoking a crapy stick that's easy to toss when your starting to feel sick, but this cigar tasted so good I didn't want to stop, even though I was getting that feeling, I managed to get through it.

I love this cigar, but now only after a good steak dinner!

Only once have i ever felt dizzy from a cigar, and that was a Padron maduro.. it was also my 3rd cigar ever.

I once felt a little queasey while smoking a big LGC Pyrimid with a huge ring guage on an empty stomach. Not the smartest move!!!

A friend dropped by from the Wichita area today. It was about 60* outside so I brewed a pot of the Cuban coffee that miki sent me (thanks miki!) & we sat outside with coffee & a coupla Padron Delicia maduros.

It was nice sharing a cigar with someone who enjoys a good smoke. My friend (Mark) is a coffee freak, so he also enjoyed the illegal brew.......said it had "meat" to it.:)

Oh God, Thurm, that's not what I want to hear! Tonight will be my first cuban, I plan on starting with a Cohiba Siglo VI with some age, and then possibly following up with a Boli PC that I've got (no idea on age though). Or maybe I'll just smoke that Cohiba, and follow it up with a nice NC.. I dunno.. Thoughts? Is starting with the Cohiba a bad thing? One gorilla told me that by starting with the Siglo VI, I'm gonna set too high of a standard for every other Cuban I smoke..

Im a newbie, and I have to say, I smoked a cohiba siglo I on an empty stomach about a week ago, and it just about knocked me completely on my ass.. Id say eat a meal, then smoke.
